I had a small pinch later that night after drying for a few hours. A little better ... less pine flavor and more acidic lemon; also less tongue and nasal bite. I suspect it needs some age to tone down topping note. I will also try mixing it eventually. It must be slow sipped not aggressively smoked if you know what I mean.
That is good to hear. As I said, I'm going to put the jar at the back of my shelf for a few months before revisiting, but I'll definitely dry for a few hours (or overnight) when I do finally load another bowl. I want to like it, I find Sutliff's VA Slices to be delicious, and have high hopes for the Sweet VA as well.

Did a set of walking reps, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Lunch follows this smoke. We straightened up the den, and Sam's prospective owner will be here around 4. Fed all of the ferals. Abner the Eager walked part of two laps with me. Tomato the Brave got extra food, and we are going to let Sam in now so she'll be here, just in case.
Watching the Reds-Rockies game.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend.

Out in the garden in the shade (on account of it being 95°F here this afternoon) smoking some 1792 Flake, in my usual Morgan Bones Milan.

Having now smoked 1792 Flake three times I can safely say that the nicotine content is just fine, but there's just something weird about this blend that makes it always give me a headache and a slightly upset stomach every time I smoke it; and I never get either of those things from other strong blends like Irish Flake, Royal Yacht, Nightcap, Dark Bird's Eye, and so on. I'm guessing it's the tonquin bean topping that's not sitting well with me, since I'm good buddies with Dark Fired Kentucky, but I've never had tonquin outside of 1792 Flake and boy does it ever make me feel lousy!

So, into the "To Sell" section of my cellar it goes! I think three times was enough for this one. 😅
