I've often marveled at this myself. As a woodworker the skill and fore-thought is not lost on me.I’m glad I wasn’t the pipe maker drilling THAT draft hole
As a fellow-woodworker, I agree! I’ve tried a few times to practice draft-hole and bowl drilling on cheap blanks, and quickly realized that it’s MUCH harder than it looks, and my children are too young for me to have enough free time to devote to practicing more.I've often marveled at this myself. Trying times, however no sympathy here as we raised 4 midgets of our own and helped with 7 of theirs but nary a woodpecker during our times.#4 of the blind tasting.
Frickin’ woodpecker showed up, but of course made himself scarce now…View attachment 322953

It is miserable here in central NJ also, hot and humid but if I can't sit out on the deck in the open air or walk around I don't smoke.Bob’s Chocolate Flake in an IMP Reverse Calabash

You're very welcome. And I agree with your assessment. It took seven tries to get it right, and the end version was a mix of my original recipe and Ernie's ideas. We were very happy about it of course, mostly because I wanted an upscale untopped OTC burley forward all day, easy going smoke, and Ernie likes to smoke blends like that on occasion, too.Watch City Cigar’s American Cut Plug in a Missouri Meerschaum Rob Roy. Thanks @JimInks for working with Mr. Ernie to bring us such a fine tobacco. It is my smoke of choice when working in the yard. It seldom needs a relight, so I don’t have to hose the caked dirt off my hands more than a couple times in a mid-sized bowl.
