Nice to have you here. Hope any intimidation wears off quickly.Well, about did myself in. Wasn't going to do the break in thing today, but forthcoming festivities in my life dictated otherwise. Smoked 3 bowls today, breaking in two Falcon removable bowls on the same stem. Not with Pirate Kake, but with that raunchy but lovable aromatic, Backweeds Buttered Bum. Dried it out a lot, and made a lot of progress with the carbon cake, and could actually taste the tobacco this time. The varnish in the bowls is definitely wearing off. I'll survive. Couple of cigar days should bring me back to normal, whatever that is. Here's the pipe with one of the bowls.
Lots of events coming up for me these next two weeks so I'll leave this thread, (be back in 3rd week of August), but will post occasionally in other appropriate forums. I'm Small Bore Director at the Prince George Rod and Gun club, and I'm going to be running a couple of demonstrations in Field Target at the club (it's a highly competitive airgun target competition, but we don't have a division in this city, either in air rifle or air pistol) and that's my job. To establish that. I used to have to drive to Haney BC in the Lower Mainland to compete. It is my hope that this discipline will take root up here so we can have regionals rather than having to travel.
Also, rabbit season (actually snowshoe hares) opens up here next week, and I want to be ready, so I'll be sighting in my .22 CZ Scout so I can harvest some winter fare. It'll hold 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards if I do my part, but I haven't shot it since last year. Grouse opens up in September, as well.
I'm also finishing up a couple of compositions and articles for performance and publication, the last movement of an orchestral suite and a Stabat Mater for soprano, baritone and orchestra. Deadlines and such are creeping up upon me.
I'd like to thank all of the guys in this "What are You Smoking in July" forum. I've learned a lot and will be back late August or so. Most of the guys that post are lifers, and I've felt a bit intimidated at times, but wow was it a great experience for me. As I said above, like the Terminator, "I'll be back." And I'll certainly post a few threads here and there on tobacco surveys and pictures of my collection. Salut guys!! See y'all soon!
That thing really does some insane interpretations man. Very cool!Another go with Sixpence, this time in my Radice Rind "Elephante" (I'm gonna stick with that!) after a dinner out at our local. Took a few pics with the rabbit r1 of the view off the deck after: first is the basic 'magic' version, next two are "make it look steampunk" and "make it look like an apocalyptic wasteland" (her idea ).

I have to tell you this story. A couple of months back when I was doing my walking, I called for Tomato the Brave so I could feed him if he was around. Some people visiting my neighbors were looking at me kind of strange, and one of them asked, "Why are you calling tomatoes?" I said in my best Elmer Fudd voice, "Huh, huh, huh, I am huntin' tomahtoes." They didn't get the joke or that I was making fun of them. However, I noticed my neighbor was laughing, and I told him to explain it to the others. I walked on wondering if those morons ever understood any of it.@gord

Should we shoot him now or wait till we get home?
Very similar to my Peterson. Can't recall the model number. I've grown very fond of mine. That's very nice briar on that bowl - mine is a rusticated version.Half way through this bowl of 2019 C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Fed Tomato the Brave a while ago, and as Daisy the Feral Princess is outside, he's snoozin' on "her" blanket.
