Pipe Dreamer and Star Gazer
I've been up since 4.30 putting the finishing touches the outpourings of my Milton-ic mind, perhaps that was a typo and I should have said moronic mind. Sadly in this day and age you cannot even use that term and we are forced to describe the really stupid as 'different abled'. It makes you wonder how Lord Nelson would have been treated in today's world, probably quite well if he self identified as a woman and had a knobectomy! Today I am smoking a wonderful bowl of 2016 Dark Plug Unscented in this 7" 'Cutty' pipe circa 1870s with a new faux amber stem supplied by Briarville about 8 years ago. As I progress through the day I will more than likely fall back on a few staple blends but the day is early. Enjoy you day and as the Japanese say 'Be happy in your work!'.

If moron was a term good enough for Gene Wilder to use, it is good enough for the rest of us. I find I employ it most while talking about politicians or fellow motorists.
I worked with many morons in my day. I taught a few as well. I remember one student, I hesitate to say his name, but you simply couldn’t have a name more likely to have been something that might work best in a movie such as Deliverance. Anyway, I told myself that some day this kid would be locked away for decades for doing something stupid. At 18 he proved me right. I treated him nicely and with respect and was surprised to hear from him many years later. He was grateful for being in my class but thought I probably was nicer to him than he deserved. He was a nice kid. He just lacked judgment of any kind. And his name didn’t help at all.

Keep trying to blend.

Abe Herbaugh Super Light weight Blasted Nosewarmer with Silver ring and Army mounted mouthpiece & Cornell & Diehl - Red Virginia Ribbon & small mount of Cornell & Diehl: Granulated Perique Tobacco (~10-15%)

Nice! Transform simple Virginia tobacco into better Va/P blend with some twist!View attachment 327055View attachment 327056

Erinmore Flake in a Peterson 2023 Christmas 69. Recent manufacture tin. This stuff is a shadow of what it was 15+ years ago, I suppose whenever STG took over production. Similar topping flavor profile but minimal strength compared to the older iteration.

@Bbailey324 I'm thinking of getting a tin of Erinmore Flake for when I meet Jason the blacksmith this weekend - it may be a shadow of its former self but it's still a good baccy for the King's Clay - and should taste good lit from the blacksmith's forge!

Smoking a bowl of Bobs Chocolate Flake in a short meerschaum 'Cutty' pipe. It is a blend that has really grown on me of recent. I was looking for Jim Inks review of the stuff and couldn't seen to find it as I would be interested on the 'Masters' take on this blend from Gawith & Hogwarts.
@condorlover1 Going to get some loose Gawith Hoggarth when I go to Buxton Crescent next month.

Your wish is my command. Here's my review of BCF and the plug version:

G&H Bob’s Chocolate Flake:
The smoky, woody, earthy sweet Cyprian Latakia, and lightly nutty, earthy, woody, toasty burley come into play in small doses, as does a discreet hint of vanilla. The grassy, earthy, tart and tangy citrusy, lightly woody and tangy dark fruit sweet, floral Virginias are the most obvious tobacco components. The whisky is hardly obvious, but occasionally, you'll sense its presence. The chocolate flavor has a deep richness, but is mild enough that it won't steamroll over you. The Lakeland scent is lightly present, and not nearly as overpowering as it is in other G&H products, but it's just enough to help form a well rounded smoke. Overall, the toppings moderately sublimate the tobaccos. The strength and taste levels are medium. The nic-hit is a couple of steps behind that mark. Won't bite or get harsh, but it has a few small rough edges. The flakes easily break apart. Burns a little slow depending on how you prepare the flake: cool, clean, and smooth with a very consistent, mildly sweet and savory, floral flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires some relights. The lightly lingering after taste and room note are very pleasant. Not quite an all day smoke, but it is repeatable.

G&H Bob’s Chocolate Plug:
The plug version is much the same as the flake with a few differences. The Lakeland is also milder than it is in the other versions of the Bob’s Chocolate blends. No chance of bite or harshness, and has fewer rough edges than the flake does. The strength is a step past the center of mild to medium. The nic-hit is a shade less potent. The plug has some density, but breaks apart well enough suit your preference. Burns slow, cool and clean with smoothly consistent, mildly sweet and savory, floral flavor. It’s slightly sweeter, slightly less stronger than the other incarnations, and the taste level barely touches the medium mark. Requires some relights, and leaves just a little moisture in the bowl. The lightly lingering after taste and room note are pleasant. Not quite an all day smoke.
