Although I'm well north of the fires, the wind has been a pain for the last week or so, finally subsiding yesterday. Had my first smoke since last weekend, Mac Baren Navy Flake in a Savinelli Porto Cervo 122 rusticated pot. Wifey even joined me, which was admirable considering my lopsided Scrabble victory over her this afternoon (we have surprisingly cutthroat matches!). 8/10

Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, Dark-eyed junco, House finch, California towhee, California scrub-jay, American crow, American robin, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Steller's jay, Spotted towhee, and Mountain chickadee.

Here's to hoping all the LA-based forum members are safe...and may you stay that way! 🙏

Even though I don’t own one yet, I love the look of the Porto Cervo.

2019 St Bernard Flake in my Yeti paneled egg. Not yet sick of this pipe.
