Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. My after dinner smoke was year 2013 Rotary Navy Cut in a post-1938 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 bulldog with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Nigel Bruce smoked this model in two Sherlock Holmes movies. Please consider asking Shane Ireland at Smoking Pipes and Peterson to bring the pipe back into production.

Then, I smoked a bowl of Watch City English Ernie-ental in a straight dark brown and tan rusticated Peterson 2023 Saint Patrick’s Day 264 Canadian with an Irish flag colored ferrule and tapered black acrylic stem.

Currently, I just finished smoking year 2020 D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Had a long chat with the late David Cuneo's sister.

Beautiful pipe. Hard to believe it's 100 years old.
Thank you.
Apart from a few knocks on the rim and superficial scratches, it’s in pretty good nick. Nomenclature and stamping still crisp.
As is the case.

The previous owner obviously treasured it, and took good care of it.
It‘s a privilege to have these pipes to use today.

When @Sandblast reaches 1000 posts his forum title will change to "inveterate tinkerer." If it is at all possible to do this before then (@didimauw?) that would be good too. Trust me, he's earned it :)
In honor of his tinkerin' and parfait makin' ways I have layered Winchester, then a Winchester X Exclusive mix, then topped it off with some Kajun Kake. Here's to you @Sandblast.

Thank you BenMN -- I'm "humbly" honored. :)
Now, an admission = I'm WAY behind on WAYS reading. Now at page 170/206 for Dec.
To at least keep my foot in the door, I jumped ahead & added a post to page 55, my only Jan commentary until jumping ahead, again, to this post on page 83. But getting behind is, in no way, indicative of any loss of interest in everybody here's input (!!!). No offense intended to my Forum Brothers & Sisters.
NOTE: Got LOTS of reading to do this weekend. But I'm definitely reading (with interest) this Triple Parfait. With all my Double Parfaits, I've only done a Triple a few times. I recall one time doing a 5 layer Parfait, but the differences seemed lost.
So --- a belated Happy Birthday (!!!). Being so far behind, by the time I read about your event, it was no longer possible to post a comment in Dec. Hmm, what's that said = Excuses. Are. Like. XXXXXXXs. Everybody's. Got. One. And. They. All. Stink (???).
Compared to my vintage years, you're still a Young Whippersnapper, albeit one year older.
Remember during Grade School, we had Show & Tell? I'll have some things (maybe halfway exciting) to Show & Tell at Pipe Club later this month.
And with Pegasus having 3 Burleys, I'm curious to hear how PS41 (after some favorable comments prior) then "crapped the bed" when mixed (???), notwithstanding everybody's individual tastes.
? = How's the search for an Oom Paul going?

It's amazing.. I, too, am finding that more and more of my own pipes are ones i bought ~35 years ago. I swear it feels like it couldn't really have been more than 20... So weird!
The bad thing is that they haven't been smoked for that long. Piipe smoking had always been Hit and miss the last 35+ years. Since I found the forum late in 2023 and have learned quite a bit and have now smoked daily since then. Thank you forum members for teaching me the right way to enjoy my pipes. More older pipes of mine are getting a new life.

I participated in two ZOOMs on Saturday. The first was the usual group of pipe buddies, and the second was a meeting of The Criterion Bar Association, a Chicago based Sherlockian Scion society. To tie-in the two, during the pipe group meeting I smoked my Peterson 2021 Pipe Of The Year 4AB Heritage (49/500) filled with Wilke No. 515. A mug of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Coffee was my drink for the pipe meet, while a glass of Royal Tokay was sipped during the Sherlock Holmes group meeting.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 2019 black rusticated Peterson 312 full bend billiard with a military mount and a nickel cap with a cumberland 4AB stem and a N.A.P. bit.
PetersonNAP.jpg

Currently, I'm just finishing this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a 1980 smooth walnut finish quarter bend Peterson 505 Rhodesian silver spigot military mount with a black vulcanite saddle stem fishtail bit. Been enjoying quiet reading time with Sleepy Suzy by my side.

Last smoke of the day is Wilke Wall Street w/o perique in a smooth light brown quarter bend 1928-1931 KBB Drinkless Kaywoodie Synchrosystem patent Rock Ambera 7209 yachtsman with a tapered rock ambera stem. I got up to feed Sleepy Suzy and when I sat down in my chair, Tomato the Brave decided to take Suzy's spot by my side. She's not going to be thrilled about that. Reading while this bowl lasts.
