A codger breakfast means contentment, the morning is cold but the pipe and coffee are hot. Half&half in a Morgan. I love being a retired codger, it’s something I never thought about achieving. But once you realize that you are one, with all benefits that come with it, you never want to go back. Thinking about a walk or a book? Decisions, decisions View attachment 366127
Both a walk, and a book.

Having Ken Byron Ventures B. Frog’s Sabotage in a Savinelli La Milano 4002 Cutty (without a spur). This pipe has a miniature Corallo di Mare/Capri rustication finish, one of the earliest versions on a Savinelli pipe that I’ve encountered. The La Milano line is circa 1949–1950 and is a precursor to the more ubiquitous de luxe Milano, and even has the same brass bar on the stem. However, it bears the Biscione Serpent stamp (in addition to the Savinelli shield) that can be seen on the stems of Savinelli Estella Hand Made pipes. This symbol of a snake giving birth to a child is a historic symbol of the city of Milan (you may recall having seen it on the Alfa Romeo car logo).

We had a nice time at my niece’s unconventional wedding on Friday.

Here I am with the three brothers that attended (Tim, the brother I play table tennis with, and father of the bride on the left).

A test to see how many relatives can fit into a photo booth at once (bride’s brother on the right).

Mrs Badger and I made a pilgrimage to one of the remoter spots in the county (Ratlinghope, pronounced 'Ratchup'), the resting place of Richard Munslow (d. 1906), the last sin-eater in England and Wales. Then home, to a pipe of Peterson's Irish Flake in the Comoy seconds zulu. Turns out it's not really a flake pipe :-(

Well, I didn't have the slightest idea...
in Greek: "Αμαρτοβόρος" (Amartovoros)
Thanks for this!

I was thinking about getting one of those old-style planter cobs. How do you like the stem?
Hey Snook..Their old design is cool, and they smoke ok, the draw might be a little tight for some because of the diameter of the stem. I use a wire sometimes to clean it. They look really cool but like I said for those that like a big open draw they might not be for everyone.

Decided to take my latest estate acquisition, a pot by Canadian Club, along for my morning commute today. I loaded it up with Cowboy Coffee and struggled to taste anything else but the imparted ghost of floral soaps past. I'm going to try some ODF on my way home tonight and see if that comes through. At the moment, it looks like it'll need more reaming and coffee grounds, which is totally fine. I bought it as a little project anyway 😃

Hope you all have a terrific Monday!

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Just fed my cats, and the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager and Harry the Hairy. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
