1q mixed with C&D dark burley and a dash of super dry Haunted Bookshop in a cob. Trying to come up with a decent smelling bowl with nic/flavor. So far I'm pleased.

Well the smell wasn't offensive. "It doesn't smell that bad." I was hoping the old man would walk into the garage and the smell would transport him back to when he was 15 smoking a pipe. I don't think the kerosene torpedo heater was doing me any favors either.
Luckily this dark burley is pretty stout. So I can up the 1q portion. I have few other Lane samplers coming. Maybe I'll pick up some white burley too.

Maiden voyage of this 11’s which arrived last night. As is my tradition for 95.7% of break ins, Peterson Flake is called to order.
Two Peterson firsts for me, the shape and finish. The wife quickly proclaimed it’s her favorite of my growing collection so I guess I did good. I hit add to cart the moment I saw the depth of flame and its orientation, in hand it doesn’t disappoint. Still not a big fan of the stem shape on the deluxe systems but I’ve learned to overlook their awkwardness. I much prefer the B stem shape. Overall I think it’s a sharp pipe and as I’m writing this it’s smoking nicely as a system should. A few smokes and the flake will be excellent in this one.
Great looking Peterson

Nice picture too

While waiting for lunch, my breakfast was a big bowl of Raisin Bran with extra raisins, and unsalted peanuts on the side. I followed that up with a large pepperoni pizza, a golden delicious apple, and a small bowl of butter pecan ice cream. I'm close to finishing this bowl of year 2000 VaPer Three Nuns in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Gold Star Nightwish, neat, is my drink. M'lady is making chicken soup ( my mother's recipe), and before long I'll have a bowl or two. Been watching The Lone Ranger.

wow... this is nothing like what I expected. I don't get licorice in the tin or really in the smoke. I don't really smoke many shag or ribbon cuts and I don't care at all for American style aromatics and thankfully this is none of that. I was expecting a stronger licorce flavor but that's fine. I really enjoyed my first bowl. Full tobacco flavor, it's not really an aromatic in my mind, like I said very little trace of licorice. As usual with GH to tobacco is top shelf and the star of the show. I can see where there will be some guys buying this thinking there will be much more licorice and maybe expecting a bit of a gooper and they will be disappointed. Oh well, on it's own merits this is very good product but I will need to smoke some more.

Am at the last quarter of my previously posted smoke. I interrupted this smoke to enjoy a big bowl of freshly made, delicious chicken soup. I'm a few minutes away from smoking year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a black sandblast PSB medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 228/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching more Lone Ranger.

Smoking 515 in a cob this morning with coffee, puppies are close by chewing bones. Of all the Sutliff this is the one I’m gunna miss the most. I would suggest too that this blend did a lot of heavy lifting in each and every Cringle Flake rolled out over time. It might be a while till I miss it though as I have a few kilograms stored in Mylar and I just opened a fresh pound bag 🤣
