PS Luxury Navy Flake in a Horse head Marxman.

These were $5 when new, in a choice of carvings. They each were individually hand made and hand carved on a bench.

Marx used a putty for fill that colored along with the pipe. Look below the horse head and in front of his neck, and there’s a huge putty fill that’s turned the same reddish brown as the pipe. This pipe was unstained new.

Laid out some Sam's Flake to dry a bit before loading in my BriarWorks 10th Anniversary Blasted Zulu. Wife caught some nice photos this afternoon between rain showers--my smoke shack/screen porch/catio is there at the right (west end) of the house. In a window you can see me loading some Shepherd's Pie at the time. :)

A pinch of PS Luxury Navy Flake (less than a flake) in one of my El Morjane Algerian made $10 pipes.

These pipes have small chambers, are crudely made, and are puke ugly.

But they were made of the real coin mountain grown Algerian brair. They’ve aged for over fifty years now since the revolutionary government had these made up.

The do gooders ought to have them put warning labels on Algerian briar pipes.

If you like the taste, you’re hooked.:)

A quarter of the way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Proofing and editing since I finished the first page of that Archie story.
