Smoking a Morgan Bones Milan tonight and trying out my little custom blending experiment that I'm calling 1791-Q, which is a mix of 80% Lane 1-Q and 20% Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake.

IMG20241208145515~2.jpg

I was looking for a way to give 1-Q a nicotine boost and this mix certainly does that! Flavor wise though you definitely know then the 1792 catches the flame, because even as just 20% of the mix it really overwhelms the 1-Q. They're both vanilla'y blends, but the flavors just don't jive quite the way I hoped they would and the herbaceous tonquin vanilla'ish flavor of the 1792 overpowers the creamy vanilla extract flavor of the 1-Q.

It's not a terrible blend by any means, but I don't think I'll be mixing it up again. For 1-Q with a bit of nicotine I think Captain Black Original or (if you want more Burley flavor and less topping) RLP-6 is the way to go.

Did some low calorie snacking, and am smoking Wilke Surbrug’s Golden Sceptre in a late 40s, early 50s straight black sandblasted Wagner British Thorn 495 (Comoy’s second) pot with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Daisy the Feral Princess went after Harry the Hairy a couple of minutes ago. She didn't like Harry getting attention from m'lady. After m'lady got between them, Daisy went to the back door to be let out, which I did. I'm sure that Harry was not sorry to see her go.

Currently smoking my Scott Klein blasted bent apple with some Hearth and Home - Larry's Blend from 2013, while playing some notes on my Peavy T-40.

Gorgeous looking pipe! I'm a huge fan of Klein's as a middle-TN guy, but I think all he's doing anymore is the vulgar expensive handmade original ones. I own one, but it's my most expensive pipe, and remains unsmoked. If your pipe is one of those, I admire you for telling yourself it's a pipe and pipes are made for smoking!

It's a Handmade from 2011. I bought it as an estate from Smoking Pipes .com last year, so it was already smoked. Its in great shape, it was at a good price, and it's a great smoker. So a big win for me.

Bought another clay in Matlock yesterday; paid £8 for it. Looks like it had a longer stem originally; not a churchwarden but longer stem than my other clays. It's been smoked but not too heavily.
Vegetation clearance volunteer day at the Avenue with Don Catchment Rivers Trust today. Got some more firewood to saw up for Jane as well.

I've posted this elsewhere but I thought it would be of interest to the regulars in this thread. I had both Mike and Stu try this last night, and both were amazed at the instant result.

a bit melodromatic, but here it is:
NEWS FLASH and this is not from me, but from my chiropractor who also is a naturopath. He suggests for nasal congestion, colds, flu . . . . hypochlorus acid spray. Available online at Amazon.

it's basically ionized salt water, completely non-toxic and is a powerful antibacterial. It has replaced alcohol in most hospitals. Completely non-toxic. Just spray it on your tongue. Bingo. Irritation gone.

I've tried it over the past few days and it brings instant relief. Not a cur per se, but you're tongue bite wil be relieved right away. You'll get it back if you smoke at this point, but other pharmaceuticals or natural cures such as biotin, or your own pet remedy will provide as much of a cure as you'll get from them.

We’ve been making that as a disinfectant the last couple months with the threat of bird flu potentially on egg cartons.
