I noticed a while ago that Poo-Bah has a pipe called Emina. Are all named pipes feminine, I wonder? In Welsh, French, Italian, German and Spanish, the noun 'pipe' has the feminine gender ascribed to it, and in no language I know, is it masculine. I mentioned this curio to Mrs Badger the other day: she reckons it's because most men don't want to be sucking on a masculine appendage.
That’s good Badger, tell the Misses thank you for her wisdom!

One of my favorite pipes has a name, "Plain Jane," a BriarWorks black, bent, sandblasted pot with saddle stem. 9mm, but as you'd expect, wide open draw without a filter. BW Back Down South VaPer was tonight's entree', and the beverage was Community Coffee, black. Because of course.

A post of interest to me. I now prefer a wide open draw when taking my time, but in the mornings when I have neither the tastebuds or the time to smoke very slowly, I do prefer some resistance to the draw. I'd happily install a filter for this purpose, but I'm so cotton-pickin' lazy at times, that the resultant goop after about three or four smokes just doesn't turn my crank.

Another Nording. I hope ya'll aren't getting tired of them. But you see, this one is special. Years ago now, Peckinpahombre sent me a message stating he was sending me a little something. I was excited, thinking he was sending me some tobacco blend samples. I remember when the package arrived, I had an awful day at work. Getting the package that day made my day so much better. Upon opening the package, I was shocked to find this Grade 13 Nording along with a Nording Tamper. I will always remember that act of kindness and be thankful when I look upon or smoke this wonderful pipe. Loaded up now with some Frog Morton's Cellar. Thanks again, Peck.View attachment 373351
Nope, never get tired of seeing fine pipes over and over. Like playing a Beethoven or Brahms symphony . . . . something new to discover with each replay! Now others, like some Schoenberg and Mahler, once or twice is usually enough unless you are in a psychotic or self-abusive mood. Happens lol. Especially when I take out old photo albums or watch really cheesy subtitled Chinese martial arts or 1960s subtitled Japanese or Italian horror or sci-fi flicks on Beta. cray

Last Nording... for now anyway. Maybe. This one is very interesting, and quite unique as far as Nordings go. When I saw this Grade 19 Appley.. Blowfishy... large Quarter Bent Thingy... I just knew I had to have whatever it was. I've yet to see another quite like it. What would you call this pipe? It's currently filled with Old Toby for my first smoke of the day. Should be a nice long smoke and I have all the time in the world on this glorious day off.1000000503.jpg1000000504.jpg1000000505.jpg1000000506.jpg

Never got back to sleep, so I fed all the cats except for the absent Abner the Eager. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice waer and bergs is my drink. Watching an episode of Ellery Queen with the ever purring Sleepy Suzy by my side.

Happy Monday! I had the ubiquitous Ryback+P in a Briarlee driving in.
Note on to a revisit of one of my first mixing attempts, a little mix I call Red Bright and Booze (515RC1, Yorktown, and John Marr) in a Ropp J07.
Y’all have a great day, unless you’ve made other plans!

Never tire of seeing you post that pipe. My J07 is always vying for the best smoking pipe I own. Such an elegant and simple design, and sensitive and responsive enough that I biased it for Orientals. Only my meer can compete with it in this category.

Maybe a modified volcano? I'd love to get my hands one of those. Lots of wood, a smallish bowl . . . I bet it fits the hand and smokes sweet and cool. Love it!

Back on the farm, today. Dug out an old wire fence, cut up a tree that fell and smashed one of our storage sheds in the last storm, salvaged everything out of the debris. Had some McConnell's Scottish cake in a MM and admired the view. That's Wenlock Edge in the background. A merry Monday to those who celebrate.Smoke240225b.jpg

Probably shouldn't post this here, but I'm preparing my pipe post right now, and it's wordy as usual and needs some severe pruning. In the mean time, my buddy Mike sent me this quip, and I couldn't stop laughing, so I thought I'd share it with others with a bit of a twisted sense of humour . . . . . if it has to be taken down, so be it lol. However, it should fit in somewhat with pipe smoking cuisine . . . . .
