***What Are You Smoking, February 2024?***

A bowl of fresh Newminster 400 navy flake straight from the bag that arrived today, in my Vauen bent egg. Its been awhile since I had NM400 as I have been smoking Sutliffe 507-C. The Newminster seems sweeter, milder and more varied in flavor - at least this batch anyway.

I’ve been smoking Star of the East Flake a bit lately and today I changed it up with some MB Balkan Blend and I can tell you the buttery orientals in Balkan Blend are magnificent. Hot coffee in the Yeti and I’m using a Castello #33 old sea rock for this smoke.

Now smoking year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.

I’m having some 1960’s Ogden’s Gold Block in my birth year Jeantet President de Jubilee at the moment but It’s marred by a raging headache that I’ve been nursing for the last few hours and a bloody toothache which I suspect is actually an infection.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of C&D Sansepolcro 2024 (Small Batch) in a 1960s Austrian meerschaum bent apple with a tapered yellow stem. Working on a review of this blend which goes on sale this coming Tuesday.
