Almost a third of the way through this bowl of Wilke Back Bay w/o perique in a straight smooth brown circa 1950s-60s BBB Contrast 506 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. I'll end the day with this smoke.

A new to me Paul Becker with some White Horses.
Morning smoke of Amphora Red Full in a BBB Silver Grain nro.709 long shanked medium billiard
MacBaren Uncut Navy Flake in this Tom Eltang bent Tulip. 
Lane LL-7 in a Country Gentleman cob now.
I've tried six Lane blends at this point, and outside of Very Cherry they've all been rather same'y. 1-Q, RLP-6, LL-7, Captain Black Original, and Captain Black Dark are all super mellow and subdued Black Cavendish centered blends with more or less the same sweet and toasty not-quite-vanilla-but-sorta-similar-to-it top note. Of the bunch my favorite is Captain Black Original, since it seems to have the strongest and sweetest top note flavor and a surprisingly decent nicotine content, but they're all perfectly fine and inoffensive.
I like these sort of blends for late at night when I just want to relax and watch TV with a pipe and not have to pay any particular attention to how much nicotine I'm imbibing like I do with all the strong dark fired blends I smoke during the day.

Enjoying Crooner in this Heibe billiard with a cup of Yorkshire Gold which is getting tepid. I’ll follow up with Seagrams ginger ale. After water and hot tea, ginger ale has become my new favorite pipe-friendly beverage. Schweppes’s is my go-to, but I couldn‘t find it yesterday. I’m hoping they haven’t been acquired by STG Too.

Chopped up some of that Bold and Strong this morning to mix with the Low Country VaOr. 2 parts VaOr and one part B&S a little less than equal to. Lol, it worked pretty good! I don’t see myself trying to mix often but these two seemed like they’d play together well and they did. Have a great Monday , folks!
