The Brisket is done and resting. Having a grand get together this evening for a joint Hanukkah dinner and to commemorate completing another trip around the sun today.

Since SP had 15% of pipes today, I decided I would buy myself a birthday pipe!
A new Peterson, Newgrange 406 😏. Been wanting one of these for awhile. And it came with free tin of baccy.

Going to have Drucquer & Sons Ltd. Loch Ness Scottish Crumble Plug in a Savinelli de luxe Milano 505 KS Square Shank Billiard with Savinelli stamped clear acrylic stem. I’m not that big a fan of square shanks—I find them kind of clunky—but, I'm a sucker for clear stems; when I first started buying GBD pipes, I limited myself to the ones with Perspex stems in an attempt to keep things manageable (that didn’t last long).

Enjoying a bowl of solani silver flake in a 1933 197 root briar billiard. A cloudy day up here in the Purcells.

Finally cut down and sawed up the blackthorn - wicked stuff - Neolithic barbed wire. And only one stab wound, which I've cleaned up. Got two walking sticks and a couple or three pipe stummels out of it, too. Tabac du jour: Semois 'La Volute' in a Stanwell 232. First try at this weed - packed it down tight, and it smoked all the way through with just one light after the charlight and no fussing (a record for me). It's a nice, uncomplicated smooth smoke, I found - sweetish hay flavours with a mild cigar aftertaste, slightly creamy on the exhale. Gentle and mellow, medium-bodied, consistent from start to finish. Could smoke this all day: definitely one to lay in more of.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats, and all the ferals except for the absent Tomato the Brave.
