Excellent!!!Ahhh. At last. I very slowly and cautiously smoked a bowl of Early Morning Pipe in my Brigham rusticated. No coughing! Yes! That tasted really good! I'm baaack! View attachment 268006
I've almost bought it several times, thank god someone else bought it so I can stop. The one thing that kept me from pulling the trigger was that random looking mammoth button to fill in a hole on the bamboo. Didn't seem to go with the pipe. It is quite beautiful otherwise.Hey, did you happen to buy this Asteriou? It was beyond my budget but I had been staring at it for months. Someone nabbed it.

Early 00's Paul Olsens My Own Blend 111, in the Il Duca D saxophone.
I'm happy that Jim Anderson (Lazarus Eatates) let me dip my grubby paws into this tin.
TR lists it as "Still Available" but I've not seen it anywhere.
A truly fantastic Va/Per - the red Virginia is sweet and tangy. Top tier leaf to my tongue. The perique adds body and depth without over-asserting itself. The Virginia is the star in this flake.
Wish I had a full tin of it, with this much age. Five stars!

That is correct. No Lakeland at all.And with the dark flake too! Glad to see you are smoking the good stuff and not the free shitty tobacco sutliff sends you to review.
Given that it’s post 2018 production, I’m assuming you get zero Lakeland’s factory essence in that one?
So, are you still alive? Does it taste like mummy dust or was it heavenly? Enquiring minds want to know…?1970’s Capstan in a Peewit by Peter Hedegaard. What a difference 50 years makes. View attachment 268001View attachment 268002
I’m yanking your chain with alliteration that’s all. “Shitty sutliff” flows off the tongue much like “crappy c&d”.That is correct. No Lakeland at all.
I disagree with you on Sutliff. Sutliff does make plenty of good blends, especially in the last few years as they've stepped up their game plan. I think every company has a range of good to bad. I wouldn't label any company as a producer of nothing but bad blends.
I know you're yanking my chain, but some here wouldn't know that, so I figured I'd better say something about it.I’m yanking your chain with alliteration that’s all. “Shitty sutliff” flows off the tongue much like “crappy c&d”.
You know besides Gawith, EGR takes the biggest percentage of my stash
If you can’t taste the factory aroma, then something has definitely change. I need to get you some dark plug now
@jpberg isn’t more grumpy than usual so I guess the plug is still fineI know you're yanking my chain, but some here wouldn't know that, so I figured I'd better say something about it.
Haven't had Dark Plug in quite a while. I hope G&H didn't ruin it as they have weakened so many blends since the merger.
I have some coming and I'm hoping the same Jim, so much tobacco is in a state of flux at the moment. Some for the better and others losing their mantle.Haven't had Dark Plug in quite a while. I hope G&H didn't ruin it as they have weakened so many blends since the merger.
I'd certainly like to read your thoughts on it when you smoke it. I'm sure I'm not the only one.I have some coming and I'm hoping the same Jim, so much tobacco is in a state of flux at the moment. Some for the better and others losing their mantle.
Still drying…but smells divine. So, are you still alive? Does it taste like mummy dust or was it heavenly? Enquiring minds want to know…?
