Like @Hillcrest I’m having a bowl of Sutliff 707 Sweet Virginia. I tried this earlier in the week and mostly left the broken flake as-is. Even though that had an hour to sit out in 90° garage, it was difficult to maintain and rough around the edges. This time I rubbed it out, let it dry 35 min and am using a charcoal filter. Very different experience tonight; sweet bready graham and honey is the vibe and I’m liking it a lot. Reminds me of Newminster 400.

Hopefully Hillcrest enjoyed this round as much as I am now!

In today’s mail, I received some nice tobacco samples from forum member MCJ, and decided to start with Rattray’s Red Rapparee in the Falcon Dover bowl.

I’m still too new to recognize and describe many flavors, but I do know that I really liked it. There were so many different flavor notes, and it seemed like they changed every few minutes and with every relight. My regret is that I used the small bowl, because it was finished too quickly. I’m looking forward to more!

Enjoyed some low calorie snacking, and am a third of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 1984 medium bend black grain etched Savinelli Non Pareil 9310 pokerish dublin with a horn ferrule and a black vulcanite flared stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. M'lady fed Tomato the Brave and Harry the Hairy while I loaded the dishwasher. Daisy the Feral Princess wasn't hungry (?), and Abner the Eager wasn't here.

A third of the way through this bowl of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Watching the rest of the Orioles-Rays game that I recorded.
