John Cotton Double Pressed Latakia in a Bruce Weaver. I really like how the John Cotton cakes burn. The Kentucky is my favorite, this is second, Burley is third. I have not tried the double pressed Virginia. Has anyone else? Virginia’s and I don’t mix well lately but I’m curious for someone else to sample it!

Just got in from walking WeeBay with a bowl of MacB Stockton spun cut in the Civic, an excellent blend and I’m kicking myself for only getting one tin. The Civic is proving to be a great pipe indoors and out and for less than £10 is probably the best deal I’ve made on a pipe.
While I contemplate what to make for dinner I’m going to try the Brown Sugar Flake again, so far I’ve found it bites a lot and I’m not terribly keen on it. I’m going to try it in a meer bowl on a Falcon this time. image.jpg

Dunhill Navy Rolls from 2017 in Castello. DNR is another new to me blend but Escudo is one of my 'go to' blends. Have read conflicting reports on whether DNR and Escudo are one and the same. I have a recently opened 2017 Escudo for comparison and they have definitely not aged in the same manner. DNR is much lighter in appearance with a pretty strong ketsup/vinegar aroma compared to the hay/raisin I get from the Escudo. Will have a bowl of Escudo later to compare flavor but from memory and to my relatively unrefined palate, the flavor profiles are similar but the DNR a touch sweeter.

I second their DP Latakia, Kentucky and Creme but I haven’t had Virginia only.

Passing the half way point on this bowl of KBV Prince of Wales in a straight smooth terracotta 2014 Sherlock Holmes Baker Street bulldog with sterling silver band and a tapered black p-lip stem. Getting a couple of things done before the Braves-Cubs game start.

Now smoking year 2013 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli Hand Made flat bottom sitter with a square shank and a black vulcanite saddle stem. This was my EGR pipe until I got the Basil squashed tomato, and I've rarely smoked this one since. But, I got tired of seeing it sit there unused, and I wanted more EGR, so I'm enjoying an excellent smoke.

That is a killer looking pipe. Love it. Glad it’s getting some use.
