This is a beautiful pipe but I can't get it to smoke anything well. The chamber is too roomy. Whatever the trick I haven't figured it out yet. It's a Ben Wade Standard with leftover tobacco: a little HOTW, Dorchester and HU Zulu.

Thanks Backwoods! I initially ordered a more traditionally stained pipe design and then came across some more custom pipes Alex has made. I emailed him requesting a possible detour from my original idea, and since he was not yet past the critical point for such a change he kindly and gladly proceeded to rise to the occasion. I think it turned out unique without being too flashy for my plain tastes, considering i tend to lean towards plain dark sandblasts. A great smoker. The stand was found on Ebay, handmade in Ukraine.
Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am part way through this bowl of Warrior Plug in a 1986 three quarter bend Bacchus face CAO meer with a dark tortoise shell colored tapered acrylic stem.
Forgot the smoke I just finished up...G.L. Pease's Union Square in another poker today. A rusticated Paul Menard. My photo didn't turn out so this is the one from his site that sold me on the pipe. Its rustication is so 'grippy' I can't even imagine it slipping out of ones hands.
