A new one on me, apparently a German make, Holger, & model I believe is Danske. It's a tallish 3/4 bent Rhodesian. Not usually my shape of choice but I liked the look of it. Threw a little Green River Vanilla in it; very nice!

This is one of the two that took 3.5 months to get here from Russia. The stem on the other is broken at the bit so I'll have to get it repaired, but both will definitely be in rotation.

I saw in your last post that you ended up not having to leave your home - all to the good! I have some extended family that live near Grass Valley, and they were on alert until last night to be ready to evacuate, but it seems the order's on hold right now. Hope they can get it under control! That's a big area on fire right now.
Yes indeed, several fires have joined together to make it more difficult. Thank you for your concern.

Bought Jamie a briar pipe today as a thank you for decorating my staircase / Great Hall and gave him the packet of Clan since I broke my clay.
Had a smoke of Clan in it before I gave him the pipe - it tasted much stronger in a briar than in my clays, either due to the larger bowl or the wood imparting a flavour you don't get with a clay!

Just returned from the annual company fishing trip for employees. Great fun was had catching halibut, salmon, yelloweye rockfish, ling cod, and more. No monsters but all good eaters!

Blends enjoyed included McClelland Beacon Extra in a Savinelli Punto Oro Smooth 320KS, Esoterica Margate in a 1966 Sandblasted Pipe Dan Shape Reformed Chimney, Peretti Cuban Mixture in a Nording Compass, and 2016 McClelland Oriental No. 1 in a Savinelli Impero Smooth 111KS. A great day!
