Cleaned up one of my grandfather’s pipes today - LHS Certified Purex. First smoke is Orlik DSK. I have about 7 others to prep. I’m enjoying this smoke though the draw is much more restrictive than I’m used to. View attachment 75259
Nice looking Author. I hope it smokes as good as it looks - nice restoration job. Do you what year it dates to?

Thanks! I don’t have a hard date. Best I can figure is post-WWII. This model was introduced in 1944 ($3.50!) and the imported briar stamp was used post war. Sterncrest closed in the 60s.
I'm guessing your GF was a WW2 vet. My father was in the Navy. Pipes were a great source of comfort to them. I am glad you have his pipes.
