While chatting with my Chicago ZOOM buddies, I was smoking my Skipper pipe. Quite a few of us, those who frequented Harry Yablon's Gift and Tobacco Emporium, in Skokie, back in the mid 90s, reminisced about purchasing these pipes, during a kind of "trunk sale," for about $10-$15. All of us agreed that they turned out to be terrific smokers. (Harry is now a manager at Iwan Reis.) He recently told me these were produced by Benton Pipes.
I had mine filled with some old, bulk Nat Sherman's 536 English Empire. A little dram of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof complimented the tobacco nicely.

Some more of Peterson 1865, but in a brand new pipe (just arrived yesterday from Holland), a Falcon with twisted stem ("silver" - red) and a bulldog bowl. I have another stem (straight-brown) and six more bowls, various shapes and sizes. Two more are on their way, a chimney and a meerschaum. I like Falcons. They are good pipes.

Keep puffing.
