I wore that album out when I was in Junior High, Then I discovered Live Bullet when I was in High School. Wore out the cassette in the tape deck of my cousins' car. He had a Chevy Malibu with a nice aftermarket stereo...good times.
I guess I have to go back to the late 30's or early 40's for the record by one country earliest practitioners, Jimmie Davis. This is his rendition of "You are my Sunshine". He was Governor of Louisiana twice, from 1944-48 and from 1960-64. Live from 1899 to 2000!
