I don't see this track getting as much love it deserves. Definitely a return to form for Rush in the 90s. Geddy Lee's bass is phenomenal and you can tell the band was listening to the grunge artists in that the time period, while putting their own Rush spin on it.

The whole 4AD label is a veritable treasure trove. Some stinkers too, naturally, but it's worth it to get to the gems.

Being the diehard Smiths/Moz fan that I am, ditto to your post before me! That was actually the first Smiths song I ever heard, really brought me back. I wish I had spent more time at the Cat & the Fiddle when I still lived in LA (Moz's hangout). I did see him once at Amoeba Records about 15 years or so ago, buying a Smiths bootleg box set. I assume it was to remove it from circulation, but I didn't ask. I'd have killed to be whoever got to ring him up at the register, just so I could deadpan: "Hmmm...never figured you for a Smiths fan..."

Steve Roach - Western Spaces, from Western Spaces (1987). Ambient nostalgia fest for me...my maternal grandfather lived in the Palm Springs area for many years, and this track reminds me of the many trips down Interstate 10 to visit.

I love hearing those stories. I wouldn't put it past him to buy his own bootlegs to be a contrarian against his own band...sounds like a very Morrisey thing to do.
