Forgot to post again last night. Once the bourbon and conversation starts flowing, it’s hard to pause and post.

Last night began with a pour of Penelope Barrel Strength Batch #5. It was our first time trying this and I’ve come away with a positive impression of it ( although my wife wasn’t as impressed as I). It’s only 3-4 years old but the young age doesn’t come through in any aspect of it. It’s smooth and easy drinking. I do prefer my bourbon a bit more complex but for the money, this is a good bottle. Cheers!

We moved on to Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #7 for the rest of the evening. This is so F’n good it’s not funny. Caramel, Brown sugar, vanilla, strawberry, and a finish that you never want to end. It truly is one of the best bourbons I’ve had in a while. Although it’s a bit pricey, its worth every penny and I’ve heard rumors that the price is going to increase $50.00 a bottle on the next release. Grab it if you see it. Cheers!
