Looking back, I can't remember the last time I cleaned a meerschaum.Nailed it again. It's all @cshubhra 's fault. It's the coolest and best smoking pipe I own and I haven't cleaned it in 7 straight smokes thanks to @didimauw and @Chasing Embers.

Ditto, so thanks!I'm just fucking lazy
Ok sure, but when you only smoke cheap Burley blends, normally after a few bowls they need a pipe cleaner atleast in the stem. Lol .... But I will power on my friend!Looking back, I can't remember the last time I cleaned a meerschaum.

My experience- Mine has picked up a lot of scratches and a couple of pits. I don’t treat it any differently than any other meerschaum. It is definitely softerHonestly, I'd be afraid to knowingly buy one. Minerals with clear or translucent edges are often more fragile than those that are not.
That pipe is exquisite!View attachment 201187This is at 35 smokes.
Thank you! I love it. I've been extra gentle with it but inevitably that first scratch is going to happen. Assuming it will be like the first door ding in a new car. After that they become part of the character and you'll park (smoke) with reckless abandon. That pipe is exquisite
Yeah, I threw the picture up because the post I responded to mentioned it.That's not one of Said's, it's one of Baki's personal pipes. Never verified to be translucent, only speculated.

'Cause I've recently discovered deer tongue and I love it.Why?

Meers scratch. It is what Meers do. Briars get dings as well. Cars, bikes, people, we all age and end up with age marks.
What is one to do?
Would you smoke it if it was cheap and tasted like shit? Surely you must enjoy the quality of the tobacco, no?
