Oh man! My condolences. I had a lot of my things in a storage while I was moving, and someone broke in and took the toolbox and hammock my late wife had given me, along with a hand truck and a tow bar for a VW. Stuff can be replaced, but sentimentals cannot. And that feeling of being violated stays with you a long time. Sad world we live in.

sorry to hear that man! My credit card info was stolen online about a month ago and I had to cancel all my accounts that were linked with it and it was a pain to get all my money back that they had taken. It will get better and remember that karma will catch up with these pathetic people.

Why would you leave things like that in your car ,your just asking for it imho
I take great pride in practicing my second ammendment right. However, some businesses would rather me not bring a firearm into there establishment. I chose to follow this rule as a law abiding citizen and in doing so, placed my weapon in the console. Drove home, and forgot to grab it as i was getting out. As stated above, my fault for leaving it there, not my fault someone wanted to break in.
Saying i asked to have my car broken into is like saying a woman asked to be raped. The gun was not in plain view, it was tucked away in my center console where it was unable to be seen without rifling through my shit like they proceeded to do.

" they thought people could do no harm and that if your non violent that nothing would happen to you"
That philosophy works great if you have a private Army to protect you so that you can act however you want without consequences.
" next venture is buying up as many acres as possible in Montana and just have my ranch out in the middle of my land "
I hope your future ranch is next door to my future ranch. We won't need a private army.

Just remember if the cops dont show up in 30 minutes you get to go Scarface with chain saw . There is always a hope that they wont bleed out from the gun shot wounds . Trust me this is way cheaper than a lawyer .

The Lord asks us to turn the other cheek to those who transgress against us. I know that is hard to swallow right now Hawk. But in the end you will be a better man for it

Captain that's my plan as well. Although it may take me quite some time to get that land in Montana.

My company does not allow firearms on the property but my state does allow me to leave a handgun in my car on company property (parking lot law). I regret to say it but I have forgotten and left a gun in the glove box overnight a couple times. Your gun will turn up one day. Keep us posted.

Well that sounds awful. Owning guns is a terrible thing to begin with. Hopefully more control will be put into place by congress soon enough. Gun related crime is just too prevalent in the US, and indeed in other parts of the world.

We are doomed...
Not sure if I envy those who have led a sheltered life or not?

I know right!?

I thought I envied those that led sheltered lives... but over the years I have grown to realize that its the complete opposite. These people are the ones in the same that get all high and mighty and THINK they know whats best for us and try to make you feel and think the way they do. Quite sad and I do feel thats one contributing factor to the declining state that this great country is in.

Looking forward to hanging out sipping mead and sipping on my pipe out on the ranch. Sounds like heaven.

Unfortunately I expected something similar to this to come up. Average response time of a cop when called for a crime vein committed is anywhere between 4-6 minutes depending on how rural your location . Average response time of an armed citizen who is around when a crime is being committed? About 5 seconds. I'll be damned if I'm going to be unarmed somewhere. The criminals are not going to follow the law no matter how tough they are. Criminals are criminals. Gun control and bans only restrict law abiding citizens who are going to follow them. I'm not going to insult your comment or judge you, but I feel it's coming from a person who has never been put in that position. When a criminal breaks into your house, what are you going to do? Let them victimize your family, or worse? I'll be damned if that happens to me. Guns don't kill people. But a gun and set it on your kitchen table and don't touch it and let us know when it kills someone. Evil people with evil motives kill people. And if its not guns, it's something else. In china last week a man went on a stabbing rampage at a pre-school stabbing over 20 kids. So should knives be illegal? A gun is merely a tool and nothing else. It's how one decides to use that tool. Mine will be to protect me, my loved ones and anyone around, including the people who despise guns. I bet if a law abiding citizen saved your life by carrying his personal weapon, you would think differently. Like my signature states, people sleep peacefully at night while rough me stand ready to do violence on there behalf. So, are you going to be a sheep, a wolf, or a sheep dog? The sheep dog (police, fire, military) is around to protect the sheep (majority of people). They keep them in a contained area and generally watch over them. The sheep don't like the sheep dog. They see the sheep dog as an annoyance, always bossing them around and telling them what the to do. The wolf on the other hand (criminals) want to eat the sheep. They're hungry and the sheep (majority of people) are helpless and easy prey. The wolf jumps the fence in hopes of getting an easy meal. Without thinking the sheep dog runs to the protection of sheep risking his own life to save someone who feels the sheep dogs are pointless and bothersome. When the wolf leaves, for a split second the sheep appreciate the sheep dog for what it has done. When the next day rolls around, the sheep have completely forgot all that has been done for them and continue on their old ways of hating the sheep dog.
I'm a sheep dog and will be til the day I die. Ask yourself, what are you....

Pretty sure it's not the only one...as stated 3 times now, shame on ME for forgetting it was in there. Regardless of the gun being in there or not, my car still would've been broken in to and this thread still would've been started about how worthless thieves are. I'm sure they're good people though and had good reason for doing so. Maybe they were hungry and just wanted some food.....
