Someone mentioned pissing contest and it reminded me of an old buddy in college. We used to hit a lot of keg parties together and the urinal was usually around the side of the house. He had some kind of pinch technique I never saw up close but the guy could literally piss over rooftops. Wish he were here now. :)

pipedude, you watch too much TV. People who excercize their right to carry are acting out of the understanding that violent crime occurs every single day in all sorts of places to thousands of people and choose to be proactive rather than wait until it is happening and hope someone calls the cops.
I know people who have been to jail for drugs, arson, murder, burglary and worse (yes, there is a worse). I have also been the victim or would-be victim in several violent crimes so your assertion that we carry in preparation for an imaginary crime shows your ignorance. You are also lucky that you are able to live in a situation that divorces you from the realities of violence that affect people in situations other than your own.
I carry in preparation for very real crime. I have stopped very real crime perpetrated by very real, very violent people and in most of those cases, at least the ones that DIDN'T end in someone bleeding and nearly dying were the ones where I HAD THE GUN. Because I had the gun, I did not have to bludgeon, beat or stab someone to make my point or convince them I make a lousy victim.
I suggest we get back on topic with this thread, in any case. It's supposed to be about the wankers that stole Hawk's gun, which he dumbassedly left in his car and will never ever do again.

Okay guys, I think this one has gone about as far as it can.
No one is going to change anyone's mind about the wisdom of personal protection.
I will now add my two cents and close the thread:
When I was 17 years old I worked in the "Woodlawn Hardware Store" as gopher. (An old fashioned hardware store, the dusty kind and with just about anything you could want or need.)

On Christmas Eve we were preparing to close up the store when a fellow came in, he looked like any of our typical customers. He asked for something and I was leading him to it when he pressed a nickel plated .38 special to the back of my head and demanded the cash from the register. We complied, he then took two shots at Miss Mae (she was 70 at the time) when she protested. Fortunately he didn't understand the true meaning of gun control... that being the ability to hit what you're aiming at. On my 18th birthday (5 days later) I applied for my conceal carry permit. I have had one ever since. The only place I do not carry is where it is expressly prohibited by law. As for assuming the responsibility that comes with concealed carry, I am highly trained. The last bulls eye/ 10 ring I missed was in boot camp in 1977. My father also a Marine taught me proper handling of a fire arm, I was also Alabama ROTC Rifle Champion 1973, 74, and 75. I was tapped for the Marine Corps Rifle Team (but turn it down). I carried a weapon for Jefferson County for 10 years (and was shot at on 3 different occasions while holding that position). On all three occasions I was able to disarm and arrest the perps. All three times I simply asked them one question, when tactically in a position to do so... "Do you want an open or closed casket?" That's when they dropped their weapons and assumed the position. I'm not nick-named pstlpkr for nothing.

The public never knows I am carrying... and if I forget to arm myself... my center of balance is disrupted and I walk in a circle... right back to my weapon.
There... my two cents.
