Here's a couple of additional points I feel should be made from previous experiences with the box...
-In a previous round, aromatics were kept separate (as much as possible) from other blends. So if we can maintain a bit of separation within the box for the blends, that would be ideal. The same would apply to other blends that may affect things. (Black House comes immediately to mind.) So keep them separate as much as possible when packing, and I would recommend keeping the samples you take away from each other as well.
-Adding. It goes without saying that part of the success of the box is the generosity of each passer. It's all about give and take. Along with baccy, there will be various accessories and even pipes in there. Please do your best to add at least equivalent value back into the box. "Take a pipe, leave a pipe" or "pay it forward" is a good MO to follow.

Good thoughts slownumbers. We can always keep an ear open to where the current box is, as it will take a little while to get the new list and box together. So maybe we can look at starting a new thread when all the stars are aligned and we're ready to go. If we can meld the old box (once it's found) with a "new" box, that might be a plan.

Ok, I'll pull together my contributions and a box this weekend and connect with Smokey some time next week. I'm thinking we may want to reach out to some of our Canuckian brothers and sisters via PM as they may not be watching this thread too closely at the moment.
Cheers,

I've got some things I can add as well to the box, just catching this thread now. Pat I can give you some things on Saturday to add to the box if its starting with you and Andrew. Matt I'll go in again on this and I'll PM you my details.

If this thread is starting "new" with a brand new roster, count me in. I can only imagine how stale the original box is.

I've got a lot of tins ready for contribution.

Would it be best to maybe go with tins only? Hate to see the whole box ending smelling the same? Is there a way to package bulk so it's flavour would be sealed in?

You'll be shocked with the weight of the box without tins. Canadians are just too damn generous, and afraid to take stuff out of the box... Which is why Ghost is saying, "TAKE STUFF!" :D I have an idea to minimize cross contamination which I'll run past Smokey when we get this box party started. Things shouldn't be too weighty. I'd skip adding a lot of tins, as the box will become too costly to ship.

Wonder if those thick freezer bags would work? Just who is the first to send out the box and what would it start out with for contents?
Couldn't a min/max be placed on what it then needs inside every time it gets reshipped? Force the guy you ship to, to remove a certain amount? Lol

Here's a great article about box passes from Reborn Pipes. http://rebornpipes.wordpress.com/2012/10/21/setting-up-a-pipe-and-tobacco-box-pass/ Well worth a read, and if you're not familiar with this blog I highly recommend bookmarking it if you ever want to get into pipe restorations.

Wondering if the person that shipped the Canadian Box Pass last can confirm delivery of the shipment?
Also, has the pending recipient been contacted and has he confirmed receiving the shipment?

Hey slownumbers, yep if you look up about ten or so posts you'll see that Cavendish confirmed it was shipped on, and that PMs have been sent. Regardless, refreshing the pass is probably wise.
