Tamper for Meerschaum

Hello guys
Actually i was working on some unibody meerschaum tampers.
But I couldn't complete them due to workload.
Requests in the last few days have helped speed up the process.
So i completed them today.
Most probably they will be listed on my website tomorrow.

Astas Meerschaum Pipe
Mustafa Şekercioğlu is the Carver, and he has been in contact with me for an hour since I sent the order.

Fantastic customer service. I found his shop on Etsy. He was letting me know of other ones he could carve as well.

Those are some beautiful Meerschaum pipes. I find the only good tamping is done very gently any way, so if you take that approach, the Meerschaum shouldn't be affected. I'd only get special Meerschaum tampers if you find yourself being rough with the tamper ...I doubt you'll do that. With tamping, you are moving unburnt tobacco down into the ember, and that is done with a fine touch.

This one arrived yesterday. Unusual bowl placement I was not prepared for. You can see the offset in the stock photos above, but I overlooked it.

Received my two Meerschaum carved tampers today from Altinay. Very nice. The pipe is very fine as well! He does good work.

Doesn't affect it at all. Even helps teach tamping pressure, if it burns your finger you are tamping too hard.

Well son of a gun. A golf tee!!! I am a new pipe smoker. What a brilliant idea. My metal tampers are going on the shelf. I love frugal and simple ideas. Now I can get me 100 disposable tampers for $5.
