Winds are picking up but will max out around 55-60 (so they say) and about an in of rain an hour for a good part of the day tomorrow. Definitely blowing to the west, no good night smoke tonight lol
Just lost power. It kept flickering on and off for about 20 mins and then it went. Got the generator fired up now. The wind is blowing like crazy.
Stay safe? Safe is boring.

Just a lot of rain and wind overnight and calling for basically a tropical storm today 65 mile an hour max winds about an inch an hour of water so another wet windy day but nothing horrible.
No wind, no rain here in Sarasota right now. My neighborhood is under 3 feet of water but the water level fell well short of the house foundation. Doesn't appear to have sustained any significant damages but we'll know more once the flood waters recede and power is restored. Considering what could have been, we're very fortunate.

Have Verizon and just happy to have service. Which is rather amazing all things considered. And while the power is down, the internet is still working.
No real damage besides a few roof shingles. Still no power but got the generator running. All safe and sound.

Here in central N.C., we aren't in the cone on the NOAA maps, but we are predicted to get five days of rain and are already hearing the wind howl above the trees and feeling distinctly cooler temperatures, only to illustrate the size of this storm which is centered about 800 miles from here. Saturday will be the rainiest backwash by current projections.
I phoned my cousin and family outside Ft. Myers in Lee County, and the line is busy, so they are in touch with others. I'll call until I get them and don't expect to talk long, with all they are contending with.
