At this point in time, I only have two Blatter & Blatter pipes.
Patrick Blatter, the pipemaker, referred to this pipe as a Lovat when I selected it at the shop; it has no saddle bit stem; the shank is round, so it's not a Canadian (but, it was literally made in Canada). I would defer to its creator, but it’s technically a Liverpool.

My wife picked these up on a trip to Montreal last year. We're just inaugurating them now on our new porch with some JJ Fox Vintage mixture from the late 80's-mid 90's.
I've only had the one smoke so far in the one pipe (the bottom on eon the picture) but yes! It smoked very well and certainly represents a great value in hand-made pipes. I think my spouse paid about a $150 USD per pipe at their store
This Select Blatter pipe was commissioned by an American businessman, but he didn’t end up choosing it once he saw it in person. My late pipe smoking mentor, Rusty, chose this pipe for its uniqueness because it’s one of those rare pipes that was made from Algerian briar.
This was the 19th pipe made in 2004 by Robert Blatter. It is of a soft Algerian briar which has been rusticated. It was a beach colour briar pipe prior to it being worked in, and is now taken on a beautiful dark brown hue.

This lovely swan necked Blatter pipe was the 150th made in 1988. Beautiful Select pipe that has obtained that tobacco coloured hue from lots of enjoyment over the years.
This Blatter pipe was a special pipe commissioned by those of us in the former Christian Pipe Smokers’ Forum. My late pipe smoking mentor, “Rusty” as he was known on the boards, was a great source of information and challenge in that forum. I was his best friend.

I was born in Montreal and that’s were any pipe smoking relatives I have live/lived. As a result I feel a connection of sorts with B&B. However, at the moment I only have one pipe that carries the Blatter name. It is new to me and thus far a fantastic pipe. I love the shape, it smokes great and it is one of the most comfortable clenchers in my collection. I will be on the look out for other B&Bs.
Did you just purchase this one off eBay? Does it have S stampings? I have info on that for you…..
