I almost bought a fat one he had but saw the smaller one with the saddle stem and grabbed it instead.

Nice choice! I saw that one when I was there. I said to Patrick that it made me think of the Jeckyll & Hyde pipes. I liked the shape and the saddle stem. Enjoy!

I thought the two nosewarmer pots were interesting- much thinner chamber walls than their usual pipes. The billiard down below I liked, but it was a bit bigger than I normally like. The one I bought has a 19mm chamber diameter and 40 something mm chamber depth.

These are my two Blatters. The sandblasted diplomat was a gift from m'lady, I love it. I picked up the Canadian a few months ago while passing through Montreal and had a nice conversation with Robert Blatter. It is a great place to stop in and browse, very hospitable and informative. Classy old school pipes that smoke as well as any, at a very friendly price. I highly recommend them.

In Italy, they produced a show based on these books. It was very good, but very hard to find, especially with English subtitles.

Yes - I know. I want to finish the books before I hunt the series down. I can speak and write some basic Italian, but from talking to Italians, the books are a challenge because of the mix of Italian/Sicilian and I would guess the show too. The books are AMAZING!
