My latest creation (pipe #7) a contrast grain straight Rhodesian with carbon fiber shank, Ebonite ferrule and mouthpiece...
Carbon fiber! What's that stuff like to work? Cool shank/stem!
Thanks Bradley! Working on no. 2 & 3.

I just hacked this one out & polished it tonight.
Looking for opinions...would it LOOK better if I bent the mouthpiece?

Ended up putting a slight bend in the stem, and I just finished turning & polishing a little pocket pipe. The poor lighting & phone camera don't do these justice. :puffy:

I didn't like how the last 4 pipes looked, not shiny enough  So after stripping the wax and letting them dry after re-doing them, I grabbed another block and went to town on an egg shape, or that is what I call it. The first image is after rough shaping to 80 grit. The next picture is after sanding to 400 grit and applying another coat of stain. At first I was thinking of sanding it down and doing a contrast but something came over me and instead of sanding, I did a rustication. It was my first ever attempt at a rustication. The I sanded with 600 to knock down the rough spots & hit it with a few more layers of USMC Black.

Thank you :) It is going to be a few days before I'll have the time to finish it, but I'll post a finished picture sooner or later.
