Getting rained out of work today Thought I would share my Sherlock Holmes collection and my two 4ABs. Left to right 1.) Deerstalker/sandblast. 2.) Handsome/rusticated. 3.) Mycroft/sandblast. 4.)Strand/sandblast. 5.)Squire/sandblast. 6.) Watson/sandblast 7.) Hudson/rusticated 8.)Baskerville/sandblast. 9.)Baker Street/sandblast 10.)Rathbone/sandblast. 11. & 12.) Heritage and PSB 4AB. I know that there are mixed feelings and opinions on the series, but I am happy with my collection. The only complaint, for me, would be the constant upkeep/ or polishing (they tarnish fast). And I wish the 4ABs came with an acrylic stem option. Happy smokes...View attachment 141961

These are all Petes. I have sold some of them and edited the Peterson collection down to 15 briars and 7 meers. The ones I have left are fine smokers. I recommend the natural finish with McConnell's Scottish Cake. If the pipe is made of very aged briar (some are, some are not) and well broken in it is a remarkable smoke.
How do you determine aged briar? I am assuming dead root is what you mean.

Yowza, that is incredible! Can you post a close-up of the nomenclature. That is a one-of-a-kind shape, by my experience.
Pipe arrived today. It is incredible! I almost don’t want to smoke it, almost. I still can’t believe the condition it’s in, a couple of tiny dings on the band but that’s it. Bone tenon extension still even unscrews. If it didn’t smell like it had been smoked it would think it hasn’t been. Came with a nice leather pouch too. Very, very happy!

Here’s a close up the nomenclature…

What an incredible Peterson find. I'd share that with Mark Irwin, I think he would love to see that one.

I received mine today. #23/90 It's my largest Peterson. It's been a long wait since it was first announced back in April, but well worth the wait. This may be my favorite Pete. Thanks Mark and everyone involved.
