My first Kaywoodie showed up today! Picked this little Saxon up on SP estate sale. Super lightweight and I dig the blast!

Turns out there was a piece of fluff in the Stinger. Smokes great now.Thanks, I just really don't like how it smokes, sadly
I just picked this Wartime Flame Grain, with a push stem.

Iāve yet to get any three hole Kaywoodies, all mine are old guys.

I haven't bought any 3 holers in quite a while. I have some, but I have been sticking to the KBB pre SM Frank era for the most part. When I first started smoking I picked up a number of 3 holers, before I knew any better.
Just got this in. A cased two pipe matched grain set. A 22 and a 42. Both push stems. A stingerless WWII offering? Or is it a catalog item or special order?
Thanks. They are step down tenons. I wasnāt sure Matched Grain pipes were made that early. But the case type with the green plush seemed early to me.
Here's an ad from 1937, this 7 day set retailed for $100.
By the clover and the āMatched Grainā over Kaywoodie Iād say WWII era. Matched grain sets started somewhere between ā36 and ā47.
I finished cleaning up the Matched Grain set.
Got a Kaywoodie Flame Grain Meerschaum Lined 92B.
Of course the seller neglected to mention the stinger was froze in the shank, even tho I asked if the stinger was intact. They said "it's all there" then when I messaged them when I got it, they said "It doesn't have a stinger"
They of course neglected to show a pic of this or I wouldn't have bid. It was free sans shipping so it'll be a project pipe

This FlameGrain Meer 09B came to me on a $10 eBay win in a little worse condition but with the same stuck stinger situation.
I fashioned a āheat shield/sinkā to protect the shank and applied the tenon fixture directly to the heating element of electric stove and was able to get it apart without harm.
