I thought this one would be fun to watch and it didn't disappoint.

I gave a 9448 to my son-in-law on the eve of his wedding to my daughter. It was an unsmoked pipe from McCranies. Every time I see it, I wish I'd have given him something else....

I take that back it was an Shape 18 New Standard Lovat (pretty similar!). It was NOS. McCrannies had about two dozen unsmoked GBD's last year and sold them off rather cheaply, except for the few Virgin grades.

Here's an ODD one! Its a City DeLuxe Unique, and unique it is...........

It has some great grain, only appears to have been smoked a time or two. I'll never smoke it, looks to much like a ballsack to me!!........... 8O

To switch to the other barrel, you merely turn the stem 180 degrees... pretty neat pipe!

Beefeater, that could certainly be a conversation starter!!! Might even make you a contender for the world's most interesting man. "He can change the room note with a mere flick of the wrist." or "His pipe is the very symbol of masculinity." Or maybe even "The ladies find his double barreled approach irresistible." Confidence and symbolism, that's an unbeatable pair.

I used to have a pair of Perspex stemmed GBD lumberman, a Virgin and a Premier, but have since parted with them for a new direction.

I still have a Digby Collector 9619. I use it for the odd aromatic. The finish is akin to the GBD Prehistoric blast.

Overall the stummel makes for a fine smoker, but the cookie cutter stem is dreadful.

Eventually I will have a new stem made for it.

While I'm thinking about it..who makes a good stem for a reasonable price?
