It is an interesting set, but way too high priced to peak my interest, especially given the condition of the albatross wing bone extension. I check out, and follow, the eBay listings but rarely feel the urge to place a bid.
In regards to the condition of the bone extension, at least one albatross species is not endangered ("least concern"). Black-browed albatross - Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-browed_albatross. I assume this means the extension can be repaired. Ahem.

This pipe was made in the mid to late seventies by Eric Nording for Imperial Tobacco, which owned the Barling IP. The pipes were made in Denmark.
While not collectible, the pipes are good smokers.
I knew you would be able to fill in the blanks on this.
I also learned something I didn't know and that is that Erik Nordiing made pipes that bore the Barling name.

You got a good deal! The block BARLING'S MAKE logo makes it a family era pipe and that particular REGd number tells me that it's probably from the 1930's to mid '40's, since that number expired in 1944.
Excellent. Thanks so much. Obviously there’s one person here who would make a fella think his small collection of English pipes wasn’t complete without a Barling’s. I’ve got a nice Comoy’s, Charatan, Sasieni, and some Dunhills. I thought I just wouldn’t have the money to spend on a Family Barling’s Make. People were really sleeping on this one and I got lucky. I’m thrilled. As soon as I get over this cold I will light her up.
