A nice nosewarmer! It seems to have a normal size bowl nonetheless. May you enjoy it for years to come! I have a similar proportioned Castello 11 that behaves no different than a pipe of longer length.4 1/2 inches.
4 1/2 - 5 inches seems to be the most common size of a lot of the 100yo Britwoods I have.
Maybe I prefer more petite pipes and tend to pick them out in preference to their larger siblings.

These were popular for carrying in a coat pocket. I have a '30's era companion set with full sized bows and short stems.4 1/2 inches.

Thank you.you are building a great collection of Barlings.
another great pipe from Geoff
So we are just going to talk about your pipes and not that table they are on?Thank you.
I feel very privileged to have custody of a few fine pieces
I haven't had a chance to load it up yet. I'll try when I get home from work. The Barling seems very close to balancing, so it is possible that tobacco will to it (when full). How does it sit when loaded?
Forgot to update this. Loaded makes no difference for either pipes, which is a little disappointing for me. Not a deal breaker by any means, but disappointing nonetheless, as they are pokersI haven't had a chance to load it up yet. I'll try when I get home from work. I picked up a Rattray's Ahoy that has the same problem, but that one won't balance with tobacco. They are both made by the same parent company, so likely a design flaw.
