So. Cal.
15 years ago a bunch of relatives and friends all chipped in $50 to buy my L2. It was completely unexpected and made for a memorable birthday. It has actually saved me a lot money and headaches because it still lights every time, still pings, still looks great, has required no maintenance except for a few flints, and it has kept me from buying other lighters. Plus, it has become a bit of a companion that I’ll have for the rest of my days. It’s all relative.

Here are some others that I've refreshed in the past, but aren't mine any longer. Drop in & say hello if you see one of yours.

More stuff that I've recently refreshed, & no longer own.
Enjoy, especially if you've got at least one or two of these!

Also, I've just noticed that I typo-ed the serial number in the description on this one a couple posts up, it should be Z6EV97, as shown in the pic. I have some more pics from when I got rid of it a few years ago. That was an interesting unit, one of a number of "Old Dealer Stock" units that I had a chance to buy. Out of all of them, it was in the best condition. Not Ken Griffey Junior Gem Mint Ten, but nearly untouched...

...except for the fact that it had been engraved with someone's initials, & I suppose had never been picked up.

Missing the D-ring fill-cap on the bottom, & that was another oddity of the buy, as most of them were.

Beautiful lighters! I have one that was a gift from my late father-in-law. The panels appear to be filled with a thin wood burl veneer with a gold plate surround. The serial number on the bottom is 82FAC66. Any idea when it was made?

Alright, @EA-6B questions.

These are lighters specifically made for pipes?

What's so special about them?

How did you get so into them, Collecting and repairing?

I'm intrigued...not 1200.00 intrigued, but 150.00 intrigued. What's the quality difference between those price points?

All the beautiful pictures, is haunting my dreams...I don't need another lighter, I don't need another lighter....

-Thank you
-Pics of both sides with the lid open would better help me tell you what it is.

-People tell me what they're made for. Pipe-Flame nozzle for cigars & pipes seems to work for a lot of people. Others just go with the Standard-Flame nozzle for one or both. Luckily I can offer either/ or.

-These are special because I can send them out there & basically not worry about them having problems. If there are problems, I can usually solve it. But there usually aren't problems.

-I collected a range of other lighters first, & for the most part should have just started with the Duponts originally.

-$1200 could be a brand new limited edition Line2 from the Dupont store with the factory warranty & everything that you should get for $1200.
-$150 could be a pre-owned vintage unit in nice shape from somewhere, but probably going to be "As-is" & not refreshed, which is not how I do it.

-Thank you. No one needs another lighter, but, then again, I'm almost out of lighters. Where are they going? I don't know.

I started looking for one in the $150 range, ended up spending a little more for a Line 1 tall with a pipe nozzle from @EA-6B and I couldn’t be happier, if I’m honest. Sticker shock, for sure. But money well spent and once you have a real ST Dupont in hand, you realize it’s worth the price and it just kinda becomes the only lighter you use.

From the left going right all of the lighters are Du Pont. The thin Davidoff was made by Dupont and then the Old Boy on far right was my fist Old Boy. I haven't used my Du ponts for a little while. I normally use my IM Corona Pipemasters. I just picked up 4 of the following as the prices was too tempting to pass. I have 8 Pipemasters in stock at the moment.
Here is the style that I bought 4 of.
