jfox520....not sure about the "burnishing stick", but you are correct it is a tool for creasing paper/folding paper(before machine processing).

I work in the printing field and these are "whale bones" they are used and they do not mark the paper. They are antiques(processed before the ban), since whaling is illegal now in the U.S. My company has been in business over 60 years, the owner must have bought them a long time ago.

Those are either pieces of hard plastic that go into a shirt collar to give it stiffness, or pieces that fit into a sail. I recall seeing things like that in both instances.

I was originally in the printing trade. I am at work and would like to pass my turn on to someone that can post something quicker I would be able to.

Looks kind of like a fish de-boner my Grandpa had; cut the fish down the center, loop goes over the spine at the mouth and then pull. Unlikely though unless that back end is a knife that folds out for cutting and removing scales.

Cool game, Good evening gents,
It looks like it's spring loaded pull on the ring and the tounge or blade at the other end retracts The wood and brass makes me think it's from the yachting or shooting or even piping world. It's only pocket size though could be a tool is it a reamer or a countersink?

'Tis an adjusting tool for a screw head that sits in a blind hole, maybe weapon sights. The bulged wooden body is to provide more grip for the chap doing the turning. The tip is spring loaded so that it will drop into the slot on the screw head without having to line it up on insertion. I claim my £5 gift voucher.

Whatever it is, it's really neat, and I want one.
Edit added:

When we find out what this one is, I have a great one. (I'm home today with the flu-cold thing that's going around our area - so I get to play.)

Well puffinbilly was the closest earlier. It is a barrel knife. It was carried on a boat or ship on a line around the neck. The lever is pushed releasing the blade which comes all the way out unfolds and then slides back into the pommel open, locking in place open. I will post a pic later of it open. He guessed possible boating and blade, so he came the closest, but plateauguy can share an item for the quiz if he has one.

Here's one:
Well here would be one to ponder over if I had the brains to insert an image into a post.
