While I tend to agree, I also try to just lump all that kitsch together with things like CB/1Q and various other necessary evils that keep the industry alive..
Pipe smokers turning their noses up at CB and 1Q (or calling the like "kitsch") while spending $12 for 2 oz on a new GLP blend just to complain that it's not a plug or tastes like the other Latakia recent offerings.

I was calling hobbit stuff kitsch, and lumping said kitsch with things like CB/1Q that sell so well they keep the industry afloat.. I did call all of the aforementioned "necessary evils"... but that's because I think goopers are evil, yet necessary since they are the most popular and best selling blends. I'm sure the majority of pipers think my favorite Balkans and Lakelands are evil, and that's okay with me because different strokes make the world go round ?.

^This... This really does peeve me up. But more the armchair critic complaining part than the price per ounce part.. several of my favorite blends ring in around $2 an ounce (half the price of CB) but I don't mind paying more for something special or an imported rare treat. I'll drink a Miller Lite and be happy about it but some days I want Guinness or Rodenbach and I don't mind paying a little more for the experience.

Had to look that up... now I'm gonna be up all night watching bocarina videos ??. How do you even control the pitch?!
Like whistling just backwards. Wider mouth for higher pitch and bringing mouth closer to closed for lower pitch. Had a fellow on here that called himself "noseflute" who brought them to my attention. I promptly learned all of the Ocarina of Time melodies on it.
Heck, I managed The Call of Magic on a recorder!

(It sucked, I prefer keyboard.)
Considering a didgeridoo this year.

When people on tobaccoreviews.com say things like "made from very good quality leaf" Oh really farmer Ed? Are you basing that on all your decades of experience farming and grading varieties of tobacco? Or is it more likely you mean you just like the tobacco and have no knowledge whatsoever about the grades of tobacco?

Ragging on 1Q. Yeah, the blend that outsells all other store blends combined is pure garbage. Yeah, that makes sense. Could it be you just don't like it?

Ragging on particular brands. Just get over it and enjoy what you enjoy.

Piping profiteers. Not the guys who are in the actual pipe business but the guys who stumble into a tobacco shop or find a limited blend online and then charge 3 to 10 times it's retail value. On the upside, these are the kinds of people who usually get rectal cancer and then wonder why it's happening to a "good" person like them.

I agree. A person can appreciate and enjoy products of varying qualities. I too pay for and own pricier tobacco. I enjoy smoking them ,and I can tell the difference (usually). But pursuing the “best” doesn’t mean eschewing the things that are simple and yet still good.
