I just ordered 4oz of Pegasus, my first order thereof. Forum sponsor smokingpipes is running a 20% off C&D bulk sale, so I stocked up on some favorites (Yorktown, blending latakia and granulated perique) as well as some I've been meaning to try like Yale Mixture, Derringer, and Winchester. I'm looking forward to seeing what the fuss is all about with Pegasus et al.!
Will be eager to hear your impressions.

We had a good thread going on Winchester Here

Hutch, I paid $50 per pound in 2020. At only $34 per pound in 2024? This is making me question panic cellaring at all!

Glad to see it, honestly. Get it while the getting is good.. It ages quite well.

And for those of us whom make sound effects when getting out of a chair, it ages really FAST.
I mean, $35 for a pound?!

Shakes out to, what, 25 cents per smoke?

Cigarettes are over a dollar apiece here

I bought 1 lb of Pegasus and 3 lbs of Winchester this past 20% off C&D bulk sale. I also bought 4 oz of Exclusive, which I've never tried. There is no sales tax in Oregon so my total came in under $145. That's $145 for basically a years worth of tobacco for me. $12 a month for all of the boutique American-grown and blended tobacco I can smoke isn't a bad deal.

Golly, posts like this almost* make me wish I hadn't have moved away from Oregon! Indiana sales + excise taxes pretty much offset any sales... If only I'd had my SP order sent to my father-in-law's, as my wife was visiting him last week. I have teh dum.

*Almost. The cost of living in Indiana is still far less than it was in Ory-Gun.

Yeah I love the part of Southern Oregon that I live in. The cost of living is higher than lots of places on the east coast but I’d rather live where I want and pay the premium. I do lots of foraging and outdoor activities around here. Thankfully I’m far away from the insanity of Portlandia and Eugene.

Pegasus in an Al Pascia Meer. Couldn’t be any better.
Man, you Pegasus devotees are a dedicated lot, I must say. I'm working on developing my appreciation of these. Had some Granger today and really loved it.

Jim, you're gonna need to kick it in gear to darken up that beautiful Meer to match the one @LeafErikson showed us a few replies earlier.

He'll be there in no time. Each bowl is better than the last when you light up Pegasus.

Its one of those blends that always hits right, in any pipe and at any time. And knowing how it smokes its a great test drive for a new pipe so you know what to expect. I only got 2 ounces of this but I suspect I'll need more before the year is out, I've got a bunch of blends to choose from but this is one of the ones I think about when I'm really craving a smoke. Great stuff.
