Peck, that bowl with Pat sounds great to me. Lets try to work out a time and maybe we can find some middle ground to get together, I'm certainly not opposed to travelling as I know traffic getting out to my neck of the woods is terrible. If we do the first couple of weeks in December, I'll be sure to bring the maple syrup to the party!!!

Peck,
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. While all three pipes are gorgeous that poker just calls to me. I am not a straight fan nor did I think I would fancy the longer shank but that pipe has converted me.
Glad that you have all in hand. The big question is........HOW do they smoke and are you dedicating any particular tobacco to them????
Cheers,
Dan :puffy:

Michael Parks should hire your wife's camera. Those look like totally different pipes. They look spectacular, by the way.

I adore the blast job on those pipes ... please don't bring them with you when we get together to smoke a bowl or two. I'm not prone to violence, but those pipes could lead to homicide and larceny. Peck, what is the diameter of the shank on that poker? How's the balance on that pipe?

I love the feel and balance of the poker. It is a bit thicker than a regular pencil. I know some folks (Harris, are you out there?) hate thin shanked pipes but, as I said, I love how they feel in the hand. I have a couple of Beckers that have a similar shank style. It's certainly a different feel, and not for everyone. I never thought I would like it until Mike at Briar Blues sold me my first Becker.
The next Parks is a smooth bent billiard. We should all head over to Michael's together for that one, unless you guys get one first, in which case I'll head over with you.
Some of the commissions Michael was working on were fascinating. One was this massive bent pipe for this guy in Europe that likes old big, bent Charatans. That was truly a pipe of Old Cajun proportions. I would go back just to see some of the various commissions.
