Needed to see what all the fuss was about. Fribourg & Treyer Cut VA Plug, stuffed into one of Scott's Burners.
Maybe this confirms that I'm the prude I already think I am, but I'm not particularly impressed with this blend. It tastes like DTM Limerick with perhaps a hint of orange essence.
The sticker on this tin was dated 3/27/18. There is a little bit of corrosion on the lid which dropped some oxidized debris on the paper underneath but the cakes were in great shape. 4- 2 oz. blocks of rum infused goodness. Mmmm...
I tried it once and loved it, bought 20 tins, then read a review of it and it's "cocoa" topping ... now alll i taste is chocolate and hate it. Haven't touched it in years LOL It's been reduced to "bombing" status, when i bomb someone i usually throw an unopened tin of this in with the rest of the package.
A favorite of mine. I have yet to open any 8oz cans, great to see.
Popped the top on a tin of Chopped Cigar Leaf. It has a very earthy tin note. Gonna give a bowl a try and see what we have here. 
I don‘t get chocolate but I do get a faint marshmallow flavour that I liken to Mac Baren Club Blend but only way way in the back. The Perique is a condiment and then it’s just good straight red Virginia
Gl Pease Horizons. Smells a bit like maraschino cherries with spices and cocoa. Flavor is much the same with Latakia, chocolate and spices. The sweet reds cut through. Decent stuff. Not sure if it beats my old favorites Charing Cross or Drucquer & Sons Levant, but it is nice and I will be ordering more.
How is the new stuff compared to past production, do you know? They always have it available now and I worry they changed it. I just bought some too.
GLP Horizons up today. I mean I've only got 6 or 8 tins open and maybe 30 or 40 jars I'm smoking on.
Latakia forward for sure. Don't smell any cherries but lots of smoke, spices and some oriental tobacco incense. Haven't smoked a bowl yet, likely this evening after dinner.

Horizons looks real pretty with that color but I don’t care much for Latakia.
HU Aus Dem Krater N2 from 2019. Smoked in a Laughing Moon poker.
Good flavor, just a slight hint of rum, good perique kick. A bit hard to keep lit and burns hot.
Had a TAD order awaiting my return from Florida and just had to pop some tins!

I know, I know. This is barely a hollow shell of the power and glory that were the Murray's blends. But this is what I could find.
This weekend Mrs. Rookie and I celebrate our anniversary. We're getting a room in Washington DC (about 40 minutes away) in one of the bar districts. I'm hoping this will be a good blend for walking around in the heat. Something with nicotine and yet would encourage Mrs. Rookie to stand closer to me.
Eta: @dottlejockey let us know what you think about Honor Blend. I'm going back and forth between that and Skiff Mixture for my next to open. Thanks!
