This may be the most dangerous thread on the forum. :ROFLMAO:

I’ve been trying to reduce the number of open tins I have jarred out, but there are some blends I have to have around ready to smoke.

I haven’t been able to determine whether the creators of this one are exercising humor with their expressed disdain over the War Horse, or if it didn’t turn out the way they wanted, but I’m very grateful of their efforts and I love the stuff.

In decades past, if I want to smoke a flake or coins or a couple slices of plug, I cut and rub out and dry before smoking. Somewhat recently, I’ve started prepping entire tins for more immediate gratification.

This is more crumble cake than plug, so despite being harder to cut than most plugs, I don’t have to cut it as thinly.

This tin was bought 2017 or 2018 … it smelled deliriously good as I cut it.

Then I rubbed it out …

…. And spread it out to dry, though in War Horse’s case, this cake is pretty well ready to smoke out of the tin.

Now I’ve got a jar, ready to just pack and smoke. I’m going to start up a bowl … see you at the WAYS thread.puffy

Opened my first tin of Irish Flake a couple of days ago, fantastic stuff! Though probably only suitable for certain situations 😵‍💫

Picked this up at a shop in the Michigan Upper Penninsula - strange shop, strange proprietor, and check out that price sticker. No, I didn’t pay this much, but I paid over 2x retail. Felt like throwing the guy a bone despite his boisterous politics and showing off a political candidate branded AR clip to me - a dude who’s never shot a gun and was clearly not interested 🤣. Strange experience, but I also appreciate the guy’s retirement passion project that is his shop. Model trains, cigars, pipes, knives, guns, and political signage everywhere. He works for no one!

Wow, where’s the shop you got this from? I’m up in Crystal Falls sometimes and would try visiting it if it’s in the neighborhood.

My tin of Grousemoor had started to lose mass, so it was time to open it up and jar it.

Perhaps past time. The tobacco still had a distinct perfuminess, but was the moisture level of a C&D blend. Oops. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it, regardless!
I bought two new tins recently and I noticed they had decidedly less topping than usual. Much, much less.

I received a 100g tin of McLelland Frog Morton's Cellar today and am going to try it for the first time. The tin is stamped 470112, so I believe this is circa 2012. It comes with a couple chunks of barrel stave inside -- I am jarring about 1/3 of it and mylar-bagging the remainder (with heat seal).

The tobacco looks and smells really good. Still a bit moist. I am going to smoke some when it cools off this evening and post to WAYS.
