Yeah, those were alright. But I'm talking about the real old fashioned blue ones, worn by the likes of Sakic, Forsberg, Sundin, Foote etc. And just as a hoot, they should all wear #88, just to piss off Eric Lindros.
The Russian wave quickly evolved into the Swedish retirement home. It’s been downhill ever since. Hopefully Stevie Y can turn it around. I miss the great rivalry with the pens, and let’s face it, Detroit has been the American Dynasty for hockey in the past, and I’d like to see that continue. Just hoping their dynasty didn’t die with the Joe.

It was another of Buttman’s failures when he moved Detroit out of the West. Completely destroyed the Hawks/Blues/Wings triumvirate of hate.
Of course that whole realignment was a cluster F**K. Yeah great idea, 16 teams in the East and 14 in the West.? Of course, it comes from the same doofus that decided Arizona would be a great place for expansion, while denying Winnipeg their franchise. (They got the last laugh though, when he had to cave after the failure of the Thrashers).
No mention of the Stastny brothers? For shame! They put that franchise on their backs.
An irony was Foote wearing the Avs Jersey with the foot shoulder lapels. Unfortunately those were ditched for the Avs sl, and then the eerily similar to the Habs “C”, and then back to the Avs.
9 minutes in - I find myself reassured that this is a 200’ rink. For a minute there, I was thinking they were playing half court!

Before my time! I barely remember the Nords in the first place. They had a pretty stellar team in '93, too bad Hextall couldn't get 'em past the Habs. So many good players, and one of the ugliest too (Mike Ricci).
