If a Canadian team makes it through and have to play in a nearly full US arena, will they be able to prevail after playing over a year with no spectators? Should be interesting. And, the one of the reason I say this season "doesn't count".
As if last year’s (just about everybody makes it, we reseed after a round robin, and everything’s in a bubble) nonsensical season does count?

Bobby Orr was the greatest hockey player in history and it isn't close. Check the stat +/ and you wil be absolutely amazed at what Orr'swas and what Gretzky's was. It isn't even close and that Orr was a defenseman. No one was ever close to Orr's best. 132 +/_ . No one will ever get that close ever again. He was unbeatable and his 3 best years were untouchable.
I grew up watching Orr play and only Orr could take the puck from behind hi snet and score a goal at the other teams net and not get touched. If he wasn't cheap shotted somany times he would have played 6 more years and the dirty plays used against him shortened his years to such a degree it was disgusting.

I watched hockey and he was tough as nails and if they had the rules today that they had back then, he would have played an extra 6 plus years. If the rules were like today he would have lasted so much longer.

If anyone knows hockey they will understand how great he was When it came to ragging a puck for 2 minutes on the defensive end, no one could do it like Orr, he was untouchable. I watched every game possible as I grew up in Boston.

I see a lot of folks freely wearing number 4 this season...

I feel you, though. I have always been a pens fan as well, but the guys I miss from my hockey watching youth are guys like Scott Stevens...
I know you didn’t know this as a kid, but Scott Stevens is a total low life. Trying to injure people, and never apologizing for it. He still hasn’t apologized to Paul Kariya. Can you imagine being that bitter? He would also dodge fights and wasn’t able to back up his cheap shots with fighting ability.

Don’t recall Matt Cooke apologizing to Marc Savard, or Fedor Tyutvin, or Artem Anisimov, or Tyson Barrie, or Ryan McDonagh, or.....Well there’s enough there to give you the gist of it.
And Bobby Clarke was a dirty POS too. Just look at the infamous Summit Series. Pure trash.

But getting back to the Stanley Cup playoffs: what was the Big hurry in scheduling the Oilers like they did?
As a B’s fan, and being quite familiar with how NHL screws them over annually with their scheduling (I believe it was 2015 when they had 2! Back to back games in the same series!); I can appreciate how Oilers fans feel screwed. That back to back was completely unnecessary. Unless Alberta is going back into lockdown, there was no reason for it.

I’m talking about Scott Stevens. And if those guys still refuse to apologize and make excuses for what they did then that is low.

My point is, you’ll never hear an apology (certainly nothing sincere) from any of them. Heck, McSorley doesn’t think anything was wrong with the Brashear assault, neither does Ciccarelli for his assault against that Leafs rookie.
Scum are scum, just the way it goes.

Here’s just a refresher....
(Don’t worry, old Dino was “fined” a $1000 and spent a DAY in jail?
***Oh, and NONE of the Flyers in the video saw any repercussions despite swinging sticks at and hitting COPS!?

And here’s a sample of “I can do it, but you better not...” featuring ol Dino and Scott Stevens. Notice how Stevens goes down like he was SHOT when Ciccarelli chops him (not all too hard, as other Dino chops you can see a full swing, this one was half hearted)

You are correct. I was just calling out Scott Stevens specifically since Frank mentioned him. He reminds me of a bigger version of Hathaway from the Capitals...running around giving cheap shots and then never being able to back it up.

Which reminds me: I was at the game after the Hathaway-Gudbranson spitting incident, and got to see Gudbranson lay a beat down on him. Also got to see Deslauriers lay a beat down on Radko Gudas that same game. Worth the ticket price.

Most of the Caps just hide behind Wilson, and let him do the dirty work (Wilson is another faux tough guy. His biggest hits are always blindside, and usually late. And all his fights are against much smaller guys. He always steered clear of Big Z, and when he tried his luck with Ryan Reaves, he got destroyed.)

Yeah Stevens was dirty for sure by today’s standards, but it was a different time. And when you’re a kid hits, goals, and saves are the holy grail.

Good game so far tonight. Fun to watch although the wild look to be fading. Happy for Zach Parise though. Healthy scratch my ass.

Latest reason why NHL is mired in The doldrums of popularity..... An 11 year old kid is threatened with Police removal FOR WEARING AN OPPOSING TEAM JERSEY?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These types of inane policies HURT viewership, don’t help. I remember that Nashville used to ban out of state sales of tickets, because they were drawing more Hawks fans than Preds.
Here’s a tip..... produce a product that HOME fans will pay for; or take what you can and live with an away crowd.
More proof that Gary Bettman is THE WORST commissioner in professional sports, and it’s not even close. To allow ridiculous policies like these is monstrous. Not to mention, our dopey government acquiescing to these under the auspices of “private business freedoms”? Last time I checked, they used PUBLIC MONIES to build those stadiums, so restricting speech rights should be a non starter.
And how ridiculously thin skinned an organization do you have to be to ban opponent jerseys at your stadium; which apparently has been enforced since 2015!!!!!! What next? Disallowing CHEERING for an opponent????
Lightning deserved to be BURIED over this story. Threatening a KID, because of their opponent Jersey????

Vegas Baby!!!
My Golden Knights roll forward to their destiny. I have been looking forward to this heavyweight cage death match for a while.

The Avalanche are an excellent team and Vegas will have its hands full.

I’m predicting Vegas in 7 and the games will be a mix of rough and tumble hard playing.

Vegas gets the edge for two reasons. William Karlsson and Marc-Andre Fluery

William Karlsson is just a hard working 200 foot player and Flower is just Flower ? ???? ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️

Toronto with the bad turnover....Montreal 3-2 in OT. Looking like the Leafs will break ? of fans YET AGAIN? (Man I hate the Habs, but kind of relish the misery of Leafs fans)C7731BCE-1CF7-439D-B109-CF771BD7C7D3.jpeg
