Why no mention of GL Pease blends? Are they to manufactured by C&D? GLP has many killer potent English / Lat blends!
Yes they are manufactured by C&D
I’m not sure if this is where Per was going because I don’t have the patience to listen to 1hr 20mins of interview just to find out what was said about Sykes, but I would LOVE to see Per hook up with C&D and do his own line of blends like the GL Pease blends.
That is exactly what he announced :)

On another note as the owner of the channel and host of the interview, I am glad you found the content informative and that you enjoyed it. More to come!

Thought it was a great interview. I for one dont need to boycott anyone as nothing STG offers is what I give a shit about anyways. Most of what I have is C&D and boutique blends. Ill keep reminding myself I need more even if that means having a few weeks of rat burgers.

Not gonna happen. I'm not knocking C&D and I know a lot of people like their style, but I'm not one of them. I'm not going to stop smoking GH, Dan, or Kopp just to "buy American." Small businesses in other countries need support, too.
Again I feel like people are seriously missing the point of what I'm saying here lol.
I smoke almost no C&D and I'm avid free-market. My point is where the money is going. If you know anything about commodity based businesses very little of the retail price goes to the producer. It's mostly everything in between.

After the dust settles from this there are basically gonna be 2 websites (the major way most of us buy our stuff) left in the entire U.S. for buying pipe tobacco. (Put places like Boswell's to the side for argument, they're *essentially* a B&M)
Those 2 websites are gonna be SmokingPipes, and Pipes&Cigars. Period.

If you love your Gawith Hogarth, awesome! They're basically what's looking to be my favourite producer (someone who actually MANUFACTURES tobacco) after this too. Buy them from SmokingPipes. Buy everything that isn't Boswell* (*Read ALL B&M's) from SmokingPipes!

Because after this SmokingPipes is gonna have literally everything that Pipes&Cigars has, plus C&D. There will be literally no other differentiating factor other than price and customer service, STG has made sure of that! There will be no blend at P&C you can't get at SP. P&C will employe a skeleton crew with crap customer support that sends all profits to Denmark.

So all I'm saying is WHATEVER you buy, buy it at the place that is based here. That creates real jobs here. That gives good prompt customer service here. That supports the last tobacco producer left here. That risks developing the last new innovative products/blends allowed to be produced (by our stupid laws) here. That sends out Christmas cards here. And maybe even consider doing so if it costs ya a few extra cents per ounce of that imported blend you love so much.

At least that's what I'll be doing...

Okay, yeah, I'd rather buy from SP and small businesses than P&C for a variety of reasons. Especially selection. P&C's already sucks and will probably now get worse. And their customer service is awful. But I'm just as likely to buy from Esterval's. I'm a poor excuse for an American, though. I don't see why I should prioritize American jobs over German or British or whatever other jobs, just because I happen to live here. If I could buy from e-tailers based in developing countries, that would be a different story.

Yeah I mostly agree with all that. My difference would be while I'd say I don't believe anyone should be forced to support American jobs (especially if the quality of their output is inferior) tho I personally believe if at all possible/reasonably convenient, one should. I do have a sense of patriotism but also that (as we are seeing now in many other sectors of our economy) efficiency isn't everything, that the trait of *resiliency* should also be weighed into the equation... esp as times become more turbulent.

And WOW!! I'd never heard of Esterval's before or know that was even possible. I thank you, sir (PS my bank account and therefore girlfriend now hate you) 😂🙂
