I take it from what I’ve seen, we’re also doing a Meerschaum WAYS here...

So...

Tonight, smoking Warped The Red Hunt, that’s right you guessed it, LOL... 😆

In my 1901 Sam McLardy & Co. Meerschaum pipe with a Vulcanite stem. ;)

I feel like a broken record saying what pipe I’m smoking, as it’s my only Meer. 🥴

Be well everyone! ❤️

@Said.ALTINAY it is so nice to see you here on the forum chatting among us. ❤️

You make really beautiful looking meerschaum pipes. :)

I hope you will please consider making some pipes with Cumberland stems in various colors.

Also acrylic stems in various colors, that have ‘Swirls’ ‘Streaks’ would be really nice.

I’m not really a fan of black stems, I only own a few pipes with black stems, which I think is great if you are going for a more ‘Traditional’ look. But you also create some very modern styles, I find odd with black. I think modern looking pipes should also have modern looking colored stems too.

Hey, I didn’t make up this idea, many carvers and companies are using colored cumberland and acrylic! 👍

Castello does a really nice job of colored acrylic stems with swirls/streaks in them, to give you and idea of what I am talking about for looks.

A cumberland stem on one of my pipes.

If you’ve never seen smithhousepipes on Instagram, look them up. They make pipes with a lot of various cumberland colors, to also give you color ideas.

Thanks... 🙏
@PipeIT thanks for your advice.
But I think I am making enough colored stem pipes.
You can see about 500 pipes with colored stems by adding this
" /shop/?filter_stem=colored "
at the end of my site link. (I can't share a link to avoid being banned)
Or you can filter on my site by Pipe Finder as colored stems.
By the way i offer 8 color options for spigot pipes which also can be ordered additionally.spigot.jpg

Look carefully at the stems I showed you from Castello and the cumberland stem. These are a combination of more subtle lines and swirls, without as much ‘Bold’ defined lines as a few of the the stems you just showed,

The black stem with the red X has bolder defined lines. Next the red with the yellow ? mark, meaning, it has a little bit of cloudy definition in it, but not as detailed, same with the blue stem to the right of it. Next, the yellow and brown stems with the green checkmarks, these have the same level swirl and streaks, these are the Styles I am referring to. Next the green and red stems with the red X, similar to the first black stem with bold lines.

Tastes and styles are certainly a personal preference.

The three with the red X on them, I’ve never seen any artisan carvers selling their pipes with these styles.

I’ve looked at pipes since the 1980s, when I started. I remember back then when acrylic colored stems started to become the style. I’ve seen the design styles change.

I would also offer Vulcanite and cumberland in various colors, as there are certainly those pipe smokers that don’t like acrylic.

Sorry if I wasn’t making myself clear, I was only originally talking about offering elegant looking acrylic and cumberland stems on your higher priced pipes.

Carved by Kenan, arranged and purchased through Altinay (who did the legwork to arrange exactly the stem/shape I wanted).

@PipeIT have you ever bought a pipe from Altinay? I recall you saying the Meer you’re smoking now is the only one you own. Forgive me if I’m drawing conclusions, but I’m going to act on the premise that you’ve never done business with him. If you had purchased one, you’d know that all you have to do is ask and he can probably get you any type of stem you want. Whether he chooses to advertise that is his own choice to make.

Well, since I sold my commission billiard from Astas meerschaum, I felt like I needed to try again. I still don't have a straight billiard meer.
This one will be on its way next week hopefully.

And I also, opted to NOT get my tamper commission done. I've been waiting weeks and he still didn't have the right size piece. So instead, I went with a cigarette holder just for fun.

It'll be interesting to watch that one color.
I'm enjoying that Astas Billiard today with some Boswells Private Stock. Great smoking Pipe, I am going to need to order one or two more of these, they may edge out some of my Briar....

I don’t want to go off topic here, I just wanted to share for Said is all.

I just ran across Prohibition Pipe Co, known as prohibitionworkshop on Instagram.

I believe they are using cumberland from Carolina Cumberland, known as carolina.cumberland on Instagram.

This stem on this Blowfish, the swirls/streaks on it, is something I’ve not seen before. There’s a few other pipes on their Instagram with this similar style.

Look for the Carbon Blast Blowfish, on the link below, I couldn’t use the actual link to the actual pipe, so here’s all their pipes.

Here’s a pic of the stem.

I’m getting a 404 error. Can you save a pic and post it?

I was only mentioning all this, not for any custom/commission work, but simply having pipes on display on the website ready for sell, with a wider variety is all.

Nice pipe of yours by the way. :)

Hope all is well! ❤️
