No.
If I like the pipe aesthetics, and it smokes well, then the logo doesn't mean squat to me.
If I may ask, which logos really piss you off?
Sadly Rattray’s , it looks like something 90’s raver girl would want tattooed on her shoulder, if it was embossed and small I’d get it but all big and wonky in gold on the shank it’s too overpowering I couldn’t look at that. Luckily they do have models that are more tasteful but I passed on a few fore sure. I do some graphic design gigs here and there so it’s like taking work with me when I want to relax I don’t want to see aggressive logos…

I don't like the club and ball logo/marking on the Savinelli Bing's Favorite.
I own that pipe too and the golf logo is small enough to go almost unnoticed but it does make me think I should be wearing checkered trousers while smoking from it yelling 4! ?

I hate it when the logo of a product makes me look like a walking billboard. A lot of this goes on today.. and people are just happy to be used by that company, in exchange for cool points.
There is a cool documentary on the controversial comic book artist Robert Crumb simply titled “Crumb” dude gets so sick of the constant billboards on highways and people in general that he moves the wife and kids to France. ???

I never worried about logos are who carved a particular pipe until all you bastids on pipe forums started bandying about names like Dunhill, Costello, Savinelli and Peterson. And that Was before you introduced me to Danish freehands.

Frankly, pipe logos don’t offend me (and I have been doing design and marketing work since the 70s.) Then again, I’m almost 70 years old and I don’t get offended as easily as some.

After looking at some, I can see your point. For me it isn't the triskelion logo or its design, it's that it is SO big.

But now after seeing this thread, I've seen several pipes today with the manufacturer's name stamped in huge letters on the shank and that is a bit of a turn off for me. So I can see the point with that too. And that big stamp name on the shank makes them look as if they're cheap pipes, kind of reminds me when you get a pen from a business and it has their name on the side. Imagine if they did that to crafted fancy fountain pens... would make that pricy fountain pen look like a generic Bic ballpoint.

Though if it was a good smoker for the price, I'd still pass on logos like that. There's so many quality pipes even in the "affordable" price ranges that you could easily find one that's just as good a smoker and looks nearly the same but without the big logo, so no need to deal with that. I guess unless it's a really highly unique pipe, but I like more "traditional" shapes so I can easily find very similar at same quality with similar look.

Or I guess another way to look at it is that there's so many different pipes out there, you don't have to settle for just form or function, you can have both, and do so without breaking the bank.

Even though function is arguably always more important than form unless it's strictly for show, and despite not trying to impress other people since it's just for me, I'd still like it to also look good, not just function well.

All of the pipes I look at, that interest me, don’t have any visually annoying logos on them.

I’d be curious to know what pipes you are referring to, that had unappealing logos on them? ?

The golf logo kept me off of this pipe. I may be missing something... but what does golf have to do with Bing Crosby or pipe smoking? I love golf but I just don't understand why they'd put that logo on the pipe.
